An attractive spot at the meeting of three counties, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Two streams cascade down little waterfalls, feeding a pool that's popular with wild swimmers in the summer months. The neat little stone bridges crossing the streams really complete the picture. The public footpath from the layby beside the A54 leads down to the waterfalls in around 20 minutes. The walk takes in good views of the moorland countryside before descending into a steep sided valley. Take care when it's been very dry - the sandy ground can easily give way, creating quite a hazard. No visitor facilities. The only downside was a disappointing amount of litter and discarded water bottles around the pool when I visited.

Well worth the hike from the pub in Flash & make a loop back to the pub for a pint (check pub opening times) Best to visit Thee Shires during the week for less crowds and after some rain for the best water fall pictures. Itβs an easy trail to follow with some steep hills & loose rocks so I would recommend walking boots

One of the hidden gems, and what such amazing place it is! Well worth visiting, good views, amazing landscapes. Easy to take a wrong turn if your not careful, if going on hot day take a swimsuit! Easy loop around, tho with smaller ones can be tricky and take a lot longer. But the kids and adults will enjoy the dip/swim in the shires.

Such a beautiful place. A great place for walking, no chance of getting bored as every stretch was different. You climbed up hills and only had sheep as company, you walked along the stream where the only sound was that of the water and a short walk along a short stretch of road. Such a picturesque, tranquil place. The 3 shires head was beautiful and many families dipped their feet into the water. The walk takes between 2 and a half to three hours and is a must.

Good length of walk from Grad Bach car park, under an hour each way. There's a loop so you can have a different walk back after your paddle. Definitely get a paper map or save the route to your phone, there's no signal. It was busy so I managed to follow the people in the distance. One route is on tarmac part of the way, the other is through fields with friendly cattle and sheep.

Brilliant spot with lovely waterfalls and pools to swim in. Nice surroundings to relax and have a picnic. Short walk (1mile) from the layby on the main road so easily accessible, slight climb on the way back.

Truth be told, Iβd avoid going here ever again. Wasnβt worth the horrendous walk. Hardly anything to see, just a small steam with a tiny water fall, was very crowded with many people and dogs. Not worth the hype. But if you really want to go, then keep in mind the following: Parking is available over a mile from the site. Allow 30 mins walking time after parking. Half of the path to the site is paved. Other half is rough ground. The last few hundred meters is very rocky. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING WITH WHEELS. No wheelchairs, buggies, bike, scooters etc. Avoid bringing very young children. Wear comfortable footwear. No toilets.

Beautiful walk. Nightmare to park. As I parked about an extra 20 minutes away from the start, instead of a 4 mile walk, it was a 6 mile walk. But, luckily it included passing some beautiful Alpacas. The normal route is reasonable to walk, but not suitable for pushchairs. It's a beautiful walk and well worth doing. Nb. No toilets, or cafe. We parked here: 53.1943516, -1.9819697
