“We had a great time at Go Ape Buxton. All the staff were fantastic. Particularly Ruben and Ella who were our instructors on the way around the course. I would 100% recommend a visit, even if you are a first timer like I was, the instructors put you at complete ease with safety first. I will be returning for sure.”

“I found this place through Google review search. We arrived and was told they could not accommodate 4 of us inside. A very helpful lady sorted us out with a nice table right in the centre of the pub. We ordered and waited for a short time . We were not prepared for the portion size, we had fish, pie and chips, sausage and mash and the half rack of ribs. The ribs I swear came of the biggest pig in the peak District. Every thing was fresh hot and tasteful. It was amazing, I would not drive past this place. It is the real deal. After a day on the peaks this is the place for amazing atmosphere great fresh local tasteful food.”

“We stayed for a week this summer and loved it, very welcoming and friendly staff. Toilets and shower facilities are excellent, very clean and well maintained. Lovely communal building where we used the kettle and microwave provided. Great location for visiting the surrounding area. We had a campervan pitch, lovely in the evenings with so much wildlife! Would recommend and will certainly look to stay at other sister sites or come back to Longnor if back in the Peak District.”

“I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly restored Ashleigh Buxton in Buxton, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The self-catering hotel is set in a charming building in the heart of the historic town, and the attention to detail in the renovation is apparent from the moment you walk through the door. The interior décor is a wonderful blend of modern amenities and traditional charm, with elegant furnishings and stylish accents throughout. The self-catering apartments are spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for guests. The staff at Ashleigh Buxton were friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and excellent service. The location of Ashleigh Buxton is also a major selling point. Situated in the heart of Buxton, the hotel is just a short walk from the town's shops, restaurants, and attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring everything that the area has to offer. Overall, I would highly recommend Ashleigh Buxton to anyone looking for a beautifully restored self-catering hotel in Buxton. The combination of stylish accommodation, excellent service, and convenient location make it the perfect choice for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in this charming town.”

“Fabulous family weekend spent in the converted pub. Our second visit. Its been revamped since we last stayed. Downstairs was great, Really well stocked kitchen. Comfy lounge, great bar area. Fantastic family area. Bedrooms, lack a little luxury. No full length mirror. No hooks for towels anywhere. Bathrooms tiny and unpleasant drain smell due to saniflow I suspect. However perfectly usable and great power shower if not compact in size! Loads of cobwebs and spiders in our room so the corners and windows in room and bathroom had definitely been missed. Bed super comfy and bedlinen lovely. There was only one side table by the bed even though room for two and our TV wouldn't work. We spent limited time in the room so it didn't matter. We would 100% return again.”

David was so thoughtful & caring & hospitable. Pot of tea on arrival (with biccies!) & fresh coffee brought to your door before breakfast. Definitely recommend if you want that real homely experience. Hartington is a best village, so B&B is great location for walks. But what makes it special is how you are looked after! (Rooms are lovely, comfy, clean & quirky!) Thanks David. You made our stay so special & memorable. Tina & Paul”

“We stayed here on a fully serviced pitch in our own tourer. Such beautiful site in lovely surroundings, so well kept and with luxury shower, toilet and washing facilities. The little shop has a few essentials to keep you going. It also has firepits to hire so you can spend a cozy evening around the fire. The owners are so helpful, kind and friendly. Its a short walk to Hulme end where you will find a lovely country pub (The Manifold) which serves lovely food and drinks. This was our 2nd stay and we will definitely be back again.”

“My son and I stopped here for a night for a few days walking in the Peaks. I stayed here when I was on a school walking trip and enjoyed it then as we walked from Hostel to hostel. I was certainly not disappointed with this visit either, it's such a historic building with all it's character and charm kept, well done YHA. The Hall is super with lots of rooms to chill in, great choice of food and drinks on offer. The staff were really friendly and helpful and kept us informed of the hostels amenities. The choice of food and good selection for breakfast was great. The rooms were clean and well catered for, we stopped in a private room which had its own shower and sink in the room which was good in the coach house. The hostel is well situated in a lovely quiet area and village with a choice of walks from the front door.”

“The rooms around the back are cosy-sized but very comfortable. I stayed on a drizzly Wednesday night so there was no one sat outside the back of the pub and it was very quiet - can't say how quiet it would be on a Saturday night. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. They had my cooked breakfast ready when I came down in the morning as they knew I needed to leave early, and they locked my bike in a secure room and had it out ready in the morning without me having to ask. Just be aware that if you come by train, it's at the top of the hill!”

The views of the lake were breath taking and perfecr for people watching. Large bathroom with bath and shower which was a lovely suprise, all looked to have been freshly decorated. The breakfaat was delicious, with a large choice of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and full english on offer. Staff were very pleasant, private carpark was very handy aa parking would have been difficult in Buxton itself. Hotel location waa ideal, lovely walk through the park to the shops, cafes, resturants and opera house. Or walking the opposite direction to pooles cavern and national park for a day out walking. The icing on the cake for me was the fact the menu had many gluten free choices, one of which was a pie. Such a rare treat to find gf pie on a menu anywhere. It was delicious. My husband had the ordinary pie and was likewise impressed. Owner was helpful, kind and knowledgable about places to eat etc. The room was nice and spacious. The breakfast was very good and we needed earlier at 8am and that was not a problem, actually was owner's suggestion because we had a hiking at 9am. Considering the area, WiFi was very quick!
