This is an amazing place, our guides were so knowledgeable and we were able to see the mills working and even close and open the sluice gates. Brilliantly restored and cared for by volunteers. Only a donation required, but please if you go donate so the group can continue their awesome work.
Brilliant bank holiday visit, really attentive guides who knew their stuff! We were given a tour by Nick and it was very interesting. Lots of information but still feels very friendly and welcoming. Stayed here much longer than we expected.
Enjoyed a great day of music, food and decent beer. Unlucky Strike, Heidi Browne, Slimline Shufflers plus others provided a great day of entertainment. The setting at the Flint Mill was superb. My only criticism is that these excellent bands were let down a little by the quality of the sound but a goid day overall. The mill itself is well worth visiting but hurry, it's only been there for seven centuries!
What a lovely museum, with working water wheels and such friendly and knowledgeable volunteers! We arrived with about 20 minutes until close and Nick gave us the full tour with such enthusiasm and perfectly aimed to capture the kids imagination. Highly recommend this small, but perfectly formed gem. Also learnt loads we didn’t know about the local industry and entrepreneurialism from hundreds of years ago.
What a lovely peice of history. Lots af brilliant information and a proper working waterwheel and mechanism within. Stumbled across this while on the Churnet Valley railway. No advertisement at the station but its just a short walk down the canal and you'll find it!
Such a wonderful place. Very historic and kept beautifully. The walk around it is lovely too. So good for our children to explore and learn
A small but hugely interesting living museum, two large working water wheels and history going back several hundred years, from corn to supplying the pottery industry. ,free entry but donations welcome, a lovely little walk from the Cheddleton steam railway, both a must to visit
As a resident in Cheddleton I have the pleasure of the Flint Mill on my doorstep. I have visited many times and even after 20 years still love to see the place and learn about the history. I would recommend a visit.
Lovely little spot. lovingly maintained mill, you can explore all over and even the dog can join in. Beautiful spot with lots to see. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area.
