“This was the venue I went to see my Daughter's uni play Mephisto, the amount of rooms in the club meant that you walked to each scene. I think the atmosphere within, played very well with the themes within the play. If I was younger I'd like to see how it works as a nightclub.”

“Max DJ'd our wedding and we could not have been happier with our choice! Max was professional, easy to contact, and always quick to reply. We gave Max a playlist of some of our favourite songs, and boy did he deliver! The final 90 minutes of the night (when everyone was on the dance floor) was the best DJ set I had ever heard, Max seemed to be able to read the room and kept the tunes flowing effortlessly. Could not recommend Max enough!”

“Sebastian DJ'd our wedding in June 2025, and was fantastic. Very professional from the start of the process and easy to contact. In the lead up to the wedding he sent us a form to fill out detailing our music tastes, but allowing him to select the songs to be played on the night. This approach certainly worked as he kept the dancefloor filled all night with a diverse group of people, and played everything we wanted to hear. Absolutely brilliant and would gladly recommend to anyone.”

He was really helpful in the planning and used his experience to suggest some great ideas to include on the night. He also knew how to tailor the music to the crowd and was really helpful in getting everyone together for the surprise entrance, photos and speeches. Mike was professional, friendly, and truly a pleasure to work with. If you're looking for a DJ who knows how to make your event go down a storm and cater to the crowd, look no further!”

“I recently visited Thekla for the first time and was amazed by how accessible and easy it was for a disabled person to enjoy a gig there. Blue Badge parking is free just outside the door and from a comfy chair on the viewing balcony, you have a wonderful view of the stage (see photos). I was able to climb the few stairs down to the viewing balcony as my assistant carried my walker downstairs and I followed him with my walking sticks. Bit it might not be so easy for someone in a wheelchair. We did not sample the food but had drinks, and the the service at the bar was impeccable. The security staff at the door had been notified of our arrival: they were friendly and ushered us past the queue, which was useful. The Michael Monroe gig we attended was a wonderful experience and I hope there will be something else worth seeing soon, as I would love to return to Thekla.”

“I had a brilliant night at Komedia seeing a tribute act for Adele, Naomi Johnson. She is an excellent singer supported by her brilliant backing singers and band. The evening was fun, interactive and a joy to experience. I will be looking out for her act when they next visit the area. Definitely want to see them again. My whole family enjoyed it. My son who is in his teens, me in my fifties and my mum who is over 70! Truly a stunning evening ✨”

“Frogged it pretty thoroughly the other night. Everyone looked really good in their UV get ups. Lakota is a great venue, the security ain't too bad. The place has character, as do many of the attendees. Weird and wonderful.”
