I give the food a 4/5 as I didn’t really enjoy the seaweed custard as it didn’t taste of anything, just like a plain cold custard. This was the only disappointing dish on the menu and I appreciate the skill of the dish, even though the flavour was lacking. The best dish for us was the dessert as it was unbelievable and ticked every box! We also loved the Cod, full of flavour!”

“I can't say enough positive things about The Greenbean Cafe. The takeout was delicious, the place is family-friendly, and the service was exceptional. We had a flat tire in our rental car and our English isn't very good. We went in to ask for help, and the manager didn't hesitate for a moment. “Had two tyres blow out heading down the A46 towards Bath (something on the road). Fitted my spare and then searched for a nearby garage to help with the second and found Central, and thank god I did. I limped my car there and on arrival I could see they were already very busy but I explained my situation and they went above and beyond to get me another tyre and get me back on the road. From the incident occurring to getting back on the road it only an hour thanks to them (and most of that was waiting for my odd size tyre to arrive). Special thanks to Nick whom I dealt with whilst I was there. I would highly recommend this garage if you're in need of their services in the area.”

“An excellent village shop with lots of tempting locally produced goodies and friendly staff. There are public toilets in the High Street which has lots of cars parked but there is parking on the old road at the end of the village.”

“My wife and I and our spaniel Bella spent an amazing evening and overnight stay at the Clachan. All the staff were friendly, attentive and utterly charming. This place is an absolute dog friendly gem. We fined on the bar and had a fabulous supper. My wife plumped for the tandoori monkfish with a side dish of Bombay potato. She’s still waxing about it. I had the fish which was great, but wish I’d gone for the baby lemon sole! The ales were in tip too condition too. And my food and drink bill was very reasonable in the current climate!! Breakfast was fabulous too, and all served with a smile. Bella slept like a log too. It’s a 50 minute drive off the M74 if you are headed north or south and looking for an overnight stop, but it’s worth every mile. I would say booking is essential for room and food. We wish the owners - the landlady and chef - all the best for their upcoming nuptials. You put a smile on the face of two travel weary oldies. Thank you. Mike & Chris”

“Eaten here a number of times and the food is excellent (both eat in and take away). Staff attentive and nothing bad to say about the place - EXCEPT when you order a King Prawn Vindaloo as a takeout and pay the price that they charge - I really do expect more than 4 (being generous here) King Prawns in there, stop padding it out with potatoes and add the prawns that should be in there. Please @The Raj - stop scrimping As a follow up 3 weeks later. Informed the restaurant about the lack of prawns. Owner very apologetic, matter rectified and five stars now given. Great service and great food”

“I'm here often, the coffee is great and the cakes on offer are excellent! In spring, summer, and later autumn, you can sit outside on a lovely warm terrace and be served your drinks and food. It's my time out space, I've often come here to stop, think, and look for a while and the staff are always friendly and helpful too. Plus the added advantage of beautiful cake, the pear cake is delicious and with a great latte your well on your way to a great pit stop and top up to set you right for the rest of the day!”

“Absolutely fantastic night! Food was amazing and high quality, but very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was lovely and our reservation was on time. Very easy to get to in the centre of town and near the station. But the highlight of the evening was the service - can't thank the staff enough for making us laugh so much!! Roger was brilliant, he knew when to step in with a recommendation or joke, and when to let us chat amongst ourselves and enjoy the food. Can't wait to go back!”

“One rarely has a tour experience this satisfying. Jon is extremely knowledgeable about the area, easy, accommodating, interesting and fun. He immediately picked up on our particular interests, and tailored our day with him to reflect them and to move at our pace. His van is very comfortable, we covered a lot of ground (which we wanted), saw everything of interest, got all our questions answered, and had a fabulous, fun day. Our experience with Jon was top notch in every respect, and we now feel as if we’ve really seen the Cotswolds in all its glory.”
