“Perfect place for a stop if you're cycling in the area. It was a good menu, with lots of choice and vegetarian options. There's space to prop your bike against the window outside, and see it from your table. There's also a side alley you could potentially leave your bike, but would be out of sight once you were in the cafe.”
“An absolute gem of a cafe, wonderful staff, brilliant value and just incredible food! Can’t recommend highly enough, fair play Kelly and team!”
“Cool little cafe on the back road through town. Definitely worth stopping at for a coffee AND a sandwich, specifically the tomato pesto mozzarella toasty which was fantastic. I also got a lemon meringue cronut to take away and had it for supper… made the mistake of sharing it with my other half, should have snaffled it all on my own, it was brilliant. Good cafe, cool guy running the counter, nice food. Go in.”
“Honestly, one of the best coffee places in Leeds, and a favourite of ours. The coffee and cakes are delicious, the staff are lovely and the seating is cosy with nice plants dotted around. We try go every other week, and are never disappointed.”
“This was my first visit, the staff were very kind and helpful. The food is very tasteful and excellent. I usually dont like avacado but this time it tasted very nice and flavourful. The atmosphere is quiet and perfect for studying or working.”
“A great little coffee shop with an extremely tasty Americano and hot milk at a very respectable price. Will definitely visit again.”
“Was just passing by and grabbed some lunch on the go, I went for the boneless jerk chicken box with rice and salad with a piece of carrot cake. The salad was a 10/10 everything was so fresh and included a lot more than I expected.. potatoes, olives, pasta, peppers. The rice peas and chicken was amazing and also had lots of nice sauces to choose from. If I was from Bradford this is somewhere I’d be visiting a lot more. Customer service was great to”
“Visited the place twice for breakfast during our trip for a festival. Food is great and relatively well priced for Leeds. Plus, the singing from the staff while we waited topped off an amazing breakfast experience. Thank you.”
“Great to have this spot in our ‘village’. Always great service, food and coffee. Best scrambled eggs in LS and BD postcodes bar none!”
“Came here for some breakfast and coffee. The staff were lovely & welcoming. The food was delicious and the atmosphere felt very warming! Definitely recommend:)”
“A very nice Greek restaurant. The staff were friendly and food was really delicious. The lamb chop and the chips were yummy and well seasoned. Chicken and pork souvlaki was also well cooked. We really enjoyed our meal.”
“Saw this on Facebook. Made a detour to try it out. Well worth it. Lovely bacon and sausage sandwich, cooked perfectly. Nice cuppa with a Biscof biscuit on the side. Very friendly, family run. Was well worth the detour. Highly recommend “The Village Kitchen”. Keep up the good work. Won’t be long before I make another detour to visit again. Thanks.”
“We nipped in this morning for a quick Sunday morning breakfast. We’ve been coming here since it was Sebby’s and has generally been a nice reliable place for breakfast and brunch. I was quite impressed by the menu, it had a nice mix of traditional brunchy style stuff with a few more exciting dishes like a szechuan pork belly dish, and smashed peas on toast. I had the black bean hash with extra bacon (usually comes with chorizo but I’m not a big fan) while my husband had a veggie halloumi breakfast bun thing. Both were really tasty. Every part of my meal was cooked well, and the potatoes were so crisp and fluffy. My only criticism was that it was a little over salted even in the absence of bacon. The egg and crème fraiche balanced it out a little though. But overall I’d order it again and it was exceptional value for money given the portion size and the quality of the food. Service was friendly and swift, and there was a steady flow of people through the cafe without being overwhelming so the atmosphere was nice. Would have loved to buy a breakfast pastry but it was only cake on offer at the counter (albeit delicious looking cake!) I ordered a chai latte which was creamy and spicy and served in generous sized cup. One of the nicer chai lattes I’ve had. Overall I paid £30 for the two of us, which I think is very reasonable given the quality of the food and drink. We will continue to come here, and I’m keen to try a few of the other menu items. We’ve been going to a few similar style places in Leeds for breakfast and while others have dipped in service/range/food quality, Loaf seems to have maintained its high standards.”
“The best Greek food in Hyde Park that is very reasonably priced for what you get! Large portions of tasty food every time I go. Good location to Hyde Park itself and staff are always friendly and attentive. Nice decor inside as well. Definitely recommend!”
