“Thanks Louis for this amazing artwork! lots of dedictation, first session took 6-7 hrs, lots of tea and sweeties, lots of pain (back of my foot). lots of topics to talk about. most important one: go vegan all you people out there. its about a future to end exploitation for all human and non-human animals alike based on compassion to enable true freedom of personal development. main thing, look at the protein content of products (you want high >10g) and supplement with B12 (which otherwise for meat-eaters is fed to the animals). beans, tofu, nuts, minimise eating processed stuff, maximise your health take care xx”

“I first met Louis over 10 years ago when he did an Egyptian piece on my leg, fast forward a decade and I contacted him about doing another Egyptian piece but this time it would be a cover up on my lower back. We had a consultation (that lasted a a few hours chatting away about Egyptology, mythology, science, life, history...the list goes on) discussed what was possible with the cover up and decided on quite a big piece of the egyptian goddess Ma'at. I left Louis to draw up the design, his work is very distinct, he has developed his own style over the years refining his drawing (and painting) skills - So you know you're going to get a great custom piece. I have now had 4 sessions, each one between 6-8hours. The hours fly by, you are made to feel very welcome in the studio, there is always great and interesting conversation (plus he doesn't mind putting the F1 on). Taking breaks and having a stretch if you need to is never a problem, there are sweets if you need a little sugar boost and the guys always offer beverages. My old tattoo was scarab wings with a sun disc, heavy on blues and reds with lots of detail, I initially thought it was too big and had way too much line work to be covered, I didn't dislike the old tattoo design, just the execution wasn't the best and having it fixed wouldn't have been an option, laser removal or a cover up were my only choices. We discussed putting another set of scarab wings over the top but because of how the individual feathers are laid out it wouldn't have been possible, so we switched to using the goddess Ma'at. Louis takes into consideration the importance of the design and works with you to make sure you get a perfect piece whilst also advising on what will/will not work in cover ups. It's not an overnight fix, it takes time to cover tattoos, especially big ones, but trust the process and listen to the advice given and the finished result will be a beautiful piece of art. With a huge respect for the tradition of tattooing, you are in great hands with Louis. His books are very busy but his work is worth the wait. He works in Leeds and Manchester and does his best to accommodate you. A great guy and an excellent tattooist.”

“Dear Hoodoo Crew, What can I say? Absolute first class customer service throughout the whole process from inception to aftercare. My last tattoo was around 35 years ago when I was 19 or 20. Haven’t times changed? My Mother recently died and I wanted a lasting memory of her. (She and I both loved the Red Kites soaring over Harrogate, I thought a tattoo of one would be a fitting tribute) My email inquiry was answered promptly the next morning by Andre, I explained I was only available on weekends due to work/family commitments then the whole process inc T&C’s were explained. Andre told me it may be difficult due to the weekend situation and would be in touch once he was available. Having looked at his work on line as much as I could (being an old geezer who doesn’t like social media) I was extremely impressed and was happy to wait until he was free. That Saturday I received a message saying “he was available for a session on Sunday (the next day) if I could make it” If I didn’t do it then I may have talked myself out of it, so arranged the appointment and paid my deposit. We spent almost an hour sat at the computer (choosing an image then sizing and printing the image in various configurations and taping them to my leg to check that we were both happy with the end result) I am most certainly happy with the end result. Thank You Andre, you are a true artist! Thank you also for juggling your own family commitments to suit mine. Myself or any of my friends/colleagues have ever heard of/or been asked to return to the studio 2 days later for an inspection and cleaning/redressing of the tattoo. Customer service second to none!! My Red Kite looks a bit lonely on his own so I have some ideas I will run past you next year once we are healed. What an experience, keep it up all of you! Thanks and regards! Mick”
