   I've been getting pierced here for years but I haven't had good experiences the past couple times I've been unfortunately. Staff are usually friendly and helpful, I like that they use internally threaded jewelry and the aesthetic of the shop is lovely, but I no longer have confidence in their piercing practices anymore. One of the helixes I had done here was pierced crooked, so I had to take it out. When I had my double helixes done, a few things went wrong. First of all, I noticed that the piercer used a pen marker to mark my ear and did not throw it away after using it. I understand some piercing studios use single use pen markers (if that is what was used) but for the customer's piece of mind it would be appreciated if they would throw the marker away right after so that customer's don't doubt hygiene practices. Secondly, a strand of my hair was pierced though the hole along with the jewelry, which was totally missed by the piercer. I only noticed when I got home, and it was painful to pull it out. I went in to have these helixes downsized some weeks later, and shortly that same day I had a lot of swelling and irritation. This got worse and I had a full blown infection on both piercings as seen by a doctor which required antibiotics to clear up. I clean my piercings religiously with neilmed spray, and after the previous negative experiences with RED, it did make me consider that the hygiene practices of the studio could have been a possible cause for the infection, especially after developing an infection the same day of having the piercings downsized. Unfortunately I cannot return to RED after these experiences.

   I got a lip piercing here in a while back (about October 2024) and while I’ve waited a while to write this, I feel it’s important to leave a bit of a beware for others. The staff are (mostly) lovely -especially the receptionist, but I found the piercer to be quite condescending during my appointment. My lip was pierced with a bar that was too short, which led to a lot of issues early on. I wish I still had the photos of how red and irritated it became. To be fair, she was kind enough to swap it out after two weeks, but by that point, the swelling hadn’t gone down properly because of the original bar being too tight. I genuinely believe that this caused the majority of problems I’ve had with the piercing since. I also have a friend who got his bridge piercing done here, and it ended up being noticeably wonky, which is really disappointing. I feel bad leaving this kind of review, but I think it's important to share honest experiences especially when it comes to something as sensitive as piercing. The owner replied and I’m not sure if you’ll be able to see that I’ve edited my review, but I want to clarify: I fully understand you’re all professionals, and I mean no disrespect. But I didn’t just “over-swell” as the initial bar used was genuinely too short. I know that for a fact because I still have that same bar in now and it’s still very short..

   Ruth was amazing! I felt so comfortable, she took her time with my design choices and didn’t add any pressure at, and was nice and quick with the tattoo itself. The studio was lovely, all very clean and cool, and the tunes kept me going! So happy - I recommend!

   I got my tragus pierced by Danielle yesterday, she explained absolutely everything she was doing, walked me through the procedure and kept talking the whole way through. Helped me choose a jewellery that would be suitable for the healing process and everything. The piercing itself lasted a matter of seconds after she checked I liked the placement, after she did it I was immediately so happy with how it looked! I think it might be my favourite out of all my piercings! Will definitely come back for my future piercings. Photos are immediately after it was done and then the next day.

   I've had two full sleeve tattoos from Ruth, two front and back of thigh tattoos from Sam, one small autograph on arm from Hannah and a daith piercing from Danielle. Safe to say I have spent many hours over last 5 years in Reds! Such a great studio, for tattoos, piercings, all staff are super friendly and good fun, aftercare is great, I recommend Reds to everyone as I have had tattoos and piercings elsewhere in Leeds, and nowhere else is a patch on Reds. Thanks all.

   Super friendly atmosphere, all the piercers and staff are hygienic and professional. I went in for a walk in lobe piercing and the process couldn't have been simpler. The piercer walked me through everything that was happening and I felt so at ease!

   Went there to get my septum done as someone who's only ever had my lobes pierced before. Wonderful experience, I was guided through the process, all the staff are nice and very reassuring. When I had had my piercing done I was welcome to sit for a while if I felt shaky. They were also happy for me to call with questions as they occurred to me a couple of days later. A great, reliable and welcoming place.

   I got pierced by Brittany today, she was lovely and professional. With a few quick and smooth movements the piercings were done and the jewellery inserted, and she asked me how I was throughout. The studio overall has a warm atmosphere and the value for money (both for the piercing and the jewellery) is very good. Some studios will overcharge for jewellery in-store, but I was especially happy with Red's selection: high quality, beautiful and affordable jewellery :)

   Fantastic artists and very professional piercers - highly recommend. The piercers give great advice - had nine piercings done here now and have had no issues at all. Have also ordered jewellery from the website and it arrived very quickly. The tattoo artists are amazing - have had five tattoos done by Sam Ding: she's a wonderful person, the colours are astounding, and all five healed beautifully. Also the general atmosphere of the place is really friendly and warm and they were also very safe and took strict precautions during COVID.
