“Great school with a great history my kids loved it”
“Our granddaughter is due to start attending Culcheth Community School in September and we have recently seen the superb range and sets of pre-school information and documents provided for both parents and children prior to them starting to attend. This included a card obviously made by a child in the nursery but containing a 'Welcome' message from the school. The class teacher and a support teacher have already visited our granddaughter and her family at home and this has created a genuine feeling of excitement and confidence for all concerned. We understand that either the Headteacher or the class teacher will be visiting children in their nursery between now and the end of term. The entire ethos of the school seems to be one of openness, support, welcome and - unsurprisingly - community. For instance, the Head and staff were more than happy to arrange dates for our granddaughter's parents to view the school at a time that suited them and to accommodate them when they had a few key questions. This was in marked contrast to another school. In talking to friends who already have young children attending the school it seems clear that whereas academic progress is, of course, a major point of focus, so is emphasis upon creativity and personal and social development. All that, of course, should be the underpinning ethos of all schools, but at Culcheth Community School it seems to be a living, breathing attitude and practice. As an ex-teacher and Deputy (now retired), I am almost as excited about our granddaughter starting school as she is herself. It's no wonder the school was so over-subscribed this year. I suspect that if not already, it will soon be THE school in Culcheth for parents who want the best possible start to the future education and growth of their children.”
