“In my life I had a lot of issues that I considered resolved, because a lot of time has passed. I originally started to go to therapy, because I had questions about certain behaviours that I did. With the help of an amazing therapist Tania Turner I manage to find answers, but also more questions which helps me understand myself more. I also understood that even though time helps heal the pain it doesn’t necessarily make the traumatic experiences go away. I believe therapy is an excellent way to revisit and learn how to navigate through those experiences.”

“Lina is a true professional in her field. After each session, I experience significant emotional improvement. If you’re looking for a safe, supportive environment to work through emotional challenges, I highly recommend a session with Lina. I tried drawing therapy with her, and I am very pleased with this decision. I had heard a lot of good things about this form of therapy beforehand, and now I can confidently confirm that it is a truly wonderful method. Drawing therapy helped me identify where I was emotionally stuck, and Lina's guidance on how to release these difficulties helped me find peace and balance in my daily life. It was a transformative experience that improved my mental clarity and emotional well-being. Before starting, I didn’t fully understand how drawing therapy works, but Lina explained everything perfectly. It’s more about the process than artistic ability. She gave clear instructions—what shapes to draw, what movements to make—which helped calm my mind and allowed me to focus inward. This process led to incredible insights and answers to my questions. With Lina’s guidance, I was able to release the emotional blocks I discovered, bringing great relief.”

“I spoke with Margaret from Sage Counselling at a period of time when I was feeling anxious from leaving one job and starting another. She provided really helpful alternative perspectives, listened carefully to what I had to say, and was willing to challenge some of my unhelpful assumptions and provide practical advice and suggestions which was exactly what I needed to help me get to a much better frame of mind today.”

“Vicky Sinclair changed my life. I went to therapy to manage anxiety around returning to a leadership position at work as a new mom, and I could've stopped there, but I went further and in the process, embarked on a much bigger internal journey of self discovery, childhood, loss, trauma, boundaries, compassion, acceptance, etc. that ended with having a new approach to life (including work), closure on the past, greater confidence, and a much more positive way of thinking and seeing the world. I strongly recommend Vicky to anyone considering therapy (small/specific or big/broad). She's a modern, inspirational, candid therapist with a lot of experience, insight, knowledge and compassion. You need to do the self-work and be open to the journey, but I can't think of a better guide who can have a positive, long lasting impact on your life. I am eternally grateful to her. I also wish I went to therapy sooner because there are so many studies and learnings about the human brain and way we evolved/think/react/process events/etc., it's crazy it doesn't form part of our basic education. We could all lead much more fulfilling lives if we knew we weren't alone in our thoughts/experiences, educated ourselves, found the roots of our challenges, and were aware of the tools at our disposal.”

    With You In Mind

“I’ve been seeing Janet for over two years now and it has been nothing short of life changing for me and my family. I embarked on therapy thinking I’d do it just for a few months post-lockdown and two years on I still find our sessions such a valuable part of my life. I read somewhere that a good therapist has the potential to heal and change neural pathways in your brain: sort of reparenting you. I really think this has happened for me thanks to Janet. I’d spent the first two years of parenting reading lots, listening to many books and podcasts. I realised I was unhappy passing on some of the patterns that existed in my family historically, but equally, felt powerless to make concrete changes. Simply knowing and noticing them wasn’t enough. Janet has given me the tools to make these changes. The work I’ve done with Janet will have repercussions down the generations of my family and I’m so grateful to her for the loving connection and bond I have with my kids and credit her too for how compassionate and socially mature they have become.”

“I found Julio at a time when I was struggling with the stresses of work (which had developed to the point of a panic attack landing me in the hospital), needing help developing methods in communicating my feelings and needs more efficiently, and most of all desperately trying to find comfort or validation in both now and the potential future. Julio is incredibly calm and kind, and was able to bring to light issues I hadn’t realised were in fact affecting me greatly. I am still in counselling with him, but the progress I feel I’ve made in the months I’ve been seeing him has been great. I’m happier, calmer, and have found a much more grounded sense of self. Highly recommended!”

Michelle is one of the most knowledgeable, understanding and helpful therapists - she will work with you on a mutual perspective to help you understand yourself and work your way up from there. It takes a lot of effort and patience to work through intrapersonal issues but Michelle supports you through every step of the way, she has helped me and continues to help me deal with anxiety, depression and mood swings. Thanks Michelle and Portland Practice for your generous and kind help!”
