“The Royal is an hidden gem the food is outstanding all home cooked, and excellent value for money. The menu caters for all, the Sunday lunches are amazing all freshly prepared and if you don’t have room for your dessert you can take it home. The homemade pies a choice of Cheese or Meat are freshly made by Alison are a worth a try they are delicious. It is well worth a visit and the prices are extremely reasonable. The staff go above and beyond they are so friendly especially Alison & Nicola.”

“A gem of a theatre for Bolton and surrounding areas. I've seen a wide variety of productions here over the years. From excellent stand up comedy, to great drama and inventive musicals. Good food in the attached restaurant and bar. The recent production of Dickens' Christmas Carol was brilliant and entertaining. Highly recommended venue. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“First time visited. I'll be back!!!!! Lovely atmosphere and the staff are brilliant. Very informative, friendly, and happy. The building has a rich history, and I think it is either the 1st or 2nd oldest pub in England - I may have this wrong, but it's a beautiful building. .....and the cider, oh my goodness!! The rhubarb and ginger cider is like fruit juice. I think it was 7%, but so yummy, and very more-ish -BE CAREFUL. Can't wait to go back. I've put 5* for food, it was the most tasty pastie.”

“Another visit to Achari tonight! (27/11/25) and yet to have less than a 5 ⭐️ meal in there. Ended up bringing half my meal home and there’s enough for another meal for me!!! We were ‘warned’ the Achari sauce in the pickle tray tonight was ‘hot’ but we found it amazing - as usual!! Only Indian restaurant we ever go to now in Bolton.”

“I stayed here for 6months plus and the owners where lovely always helping out, rooms cleaned every 3 days, was nice atmosphere used to play pool owners would keep pub open for us finishing work at 1 and get a few games of pool highly recommend joan and alan where the best i have stayed at in a long time thank you”

Power cut during the live show, a drunk horse that looked like it could do with a kebab, the snooker table was a bit wonky and the fruit machine appeared to pay out in Deutsche Marks. The psychic offended my dad, who isn't remotely interested in touching up children. I got white gloss on my new jacket, and there were smouldering tissues in the toilet waste bin where someone had lobbed a cigar. The door staff also made inappropriate comments about the opening hours of my girlfriend's legs. Bar staff great, but the optics could probably do with lowering a bit as they were serving shorts in vases. The new Japanese lager they were promoting certainly packs a punch and got me absolutely wasted. Kids' play area was decent with a great snake-themed bouncy castle and a Berry chew dispenser. Unfortunately I didn't get any action when we got home as the machine selling the flavoured contraceptives appeared to be 10 years out of date. Overall, best place I've been for ages. Will be back :)”

“Tried this after watching TFT food troll youtube video and was blown away by how yummy the chicken donner in fresh bread roll £5 or £7 with chips and drink I thought it was just another sharwama from watching the video but it's nothing like you had before , it taste like perfectly golden trimmed rotisserie chicken with thyme or some type of herbs , reminds me of tge country tyrkey where they use minimal seasoning to show off the natural chicken flavour from the meat. Absolutely loved it in that bread with mayo and mint yoghurt Wish this place was in manchester it would do well here . The shop was clean and staff was friendly, proces are on tge higher side but it's quality. “This place is my favourite in Manchester. I’ve been there many times and was never let down. The food tastes great and is fresh and presentable. The staff are extremely friendly. It’s difficult for me to pick a favourite meal as all are delicious from Peri Peri grilled Chicken to burgers and mixed grilled kebabs.”
