The food was out of this world literally, the pounded yam nice and soft, Banga Soup was just mouthwatering, every bite just made me want more! And the Taba (don't get me started) I used to have Taba as a kid and throughout my years never found a place that made Taba the way this one place made it when I was young... Tried this place for my birthday and the Taba was spot on like they were the ones that made it when I was little... 100/10 - seriously.”

“The Royal is an hidden gem the food is outstanding all home cooked, and excellent value for money. The menu caters for all, the Sunday lunches are amazing all freshly prepared and if you don’t have room for your dessert you can take it home. The homemade pies a choice of Cheese or Meat are freshly made by Alison are a worth a try they are delicious. It is well worth a visit and the prices are extremely reasonable. “First time visited. I'll be back!!!!! Lovely atmosphere and the staff are brilliant. Very informative, friendly, and happy. The building has a rich history, and I think it is either the 1st or 2nd oldest pub in England - I may have this wrong, but it's a beautiful building. .....and the cider, oh my goodness!! The rhubarb and ginger cider is like fruit juice. I think it was 7%, but so yummy, and very more-ish -BE CAREFUL. Can't wait to go back. I've put 5* for food, it was the most tasty pastie.”

“Love this cafe. As a veggie the soup of the day was chicken but the owner James set to and made me the most delicious mushroom and sweetcorn soup ever . The prices cant be beaten in this place (large full English £4.95) and the menu extensive with a mix of English and Carribean all sounds delicious. James looks so calm under pressure as he was alone cooking and serving when we called in but everyone served in no time..my favourite place to eat when in Bolton.”
