“Excellent facilities. Staff always go above and beyond the call of duty to be helpfull and informative. Love both the gym and pool which are kept spotlessly clean by staff. Can't wait to get back to the centre following national lockdown.”
“I have been an NHS patient with Abbey House Dental for many years now. When it became clear however that one of my lower molars was unable to be saved I had to start weighing up my options. In the end it turned out these were either a root canal, denture or an implant. Most of you reading this will know advanced options for dental help like Implants on the NHS are not funded - that is another discussion. After researching I came to the conclusion because it is such an important tooth that I needed to go for the implant. In the longer run I believe it will be the best decision. My dentist referred me to the Advanced Center where I talked to Mana, the treatment co-ordinator. The initial consultation is when you find out how much an implant is going to cost. Like most people (I imagine) my reaction to this was one of eye watering incredulity. Having since thought about it, I have softened a little given the team, the equipment, the skills of the professionals involved and the procedure. Even so, this puts Implants beyond the reach of many people which is unfortunate. Looking around other places is the same, there are some cheaper options, even going abroad but in the end I needed to get it done and by a team I could trust. Having decided it was my best option. I had an appointment with Dr Rehan where he explained the procedure clearly, answering my questions along the way. My treatment co-ordinator, Mand took a full 3D scan of my mouth, the results of which are mapped out and used to come up with the shape of the implant tooth. There’s some tech at work here. The appt was made for 2 weeks, especially important to me that it was as soon as possible as my tooth at this point had split in half above the gum and it was important to get it out. The dentist did explain at this point that this might make the removal a little harder. The first part of the procedure is to remove the broken tooth and install the implant screw. I was a little nervous. In the end the team injected my gum around the tooth and numbed it. For my operation there was a team of four. Another dentist came up during the procedure to help with extraction as this turned out to give Dr Rehan a number of challenges - basically without sounding too screamish, the extraction wasn’t straight forward as feared. To cut a long story short, I was impressed by the way the team dealt with it. I understand sometimes things don’t go to plan and the team Dr Rehan, another dentist from downstairs and (I think) Wioleta provided an outstanding service and level of care. It was uncomfortable at times for me, but I always felt like I was in good hands. I should mention in this review that clinic is impressive in terms of equipment and cleanliness - always a good sign. After around an hour, the operation to put the implant screw was a success. I did need to be topped up a couple of times to keep the area numb but the team made sure I was not in pain. I was shown the x-ray of the area and could see that the implant had gone in just the correct angle which was a relief. The implant screw had to go in a little deeper due to my bone density. I was given some antibiotics and mouthwash. Relieved but with a sore mouth (no blame attached of course it was going to be sore) I headed to the pharmacy and got some pain relief. First stage complete. I will be back shortly to have the implant fitted. Despite my moans about the cost I can’t fault the service or the team so I highly recommend.”
