“"Wait, is THAT the building?" Yes, it is. Crazy, quirky location at the end of an old toll bridge with a giant selection of sandwiches made to order, plus crisps, snacks, water, tea, etc.. We stopped by on consecutive days while our daughter was competing at a local sports ground, and everything we got both days was first-rate (the roast pork is sublime.) Nice staff, too. Lots of cyclists in evidence so clearly a popular rest stop.”

“Great pub! Because the drinks are reasonable as is the food. Even better if you like to watch Nottingham Forest footy matches on the massive screen! Or other teams matches. I’m not a footy fan, but lots of people are so it’s a great location. There are other areas too, away from the match. Staff do a good job but like a lot of places these days there’s not much human engagement at all - especially if you order online. Very quick online service on a Sunday afternoon.”

“It was our first time leaving our vizsla with Bridge house, we have tried a few other kennels with "luxury" facilities but our dog has not come home in better shape and condition than when he went here. The positivity started when they owner wanted to meet Axel, we got a full guided tour and I could see how much they cared for dogs. I was spoken through all my options in regards to food and told how his day would pan out. I was really pleased to hear that Axel would be visited regularly and given a couple of small walks per day. In previous kennels he has not been walked and as a high energy dog he needs exercise. Axel came home after 10 days in top condition, I was ready to bath him and give his bedding a good wash.... but their was no need! He had been given a bath and smelt amazing and was super soft, his bedding and toys had also had a wash!. I was so impressed with this , and I have never experienced this before even with "luxury" high end kennels. The staff made sure he was given his filled kong every day and his evening bone (we provided these). As I saw Axel being bought out for collection, prior to him noticing us he was trotting along with the staff, so happy. The owner even called the next day to apologise for not being on site during collection and a few miscommunication regarding pick up time. I would 100000% recommend and leave my dog here again. He has come home, happy, healthy and smelling delightful. Thank you x”

“I have been here multiple times with my dog. He is always well looked after and comes out looking brilliant. I booked the wrong cut for my dog but they still managed to do the right cut for him. It was nice and easy even with the social distancing rules. It is more than other groomers charge and only downside for me is it takes over half an hour to get there, but given the quality I am happy to travel!”

“My daughter and I stayed here for a family vacation. The hotel was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The beds were so soft and comfortable that both of us did not have any issues getting a good nights sleep. The breakfast was good and enjoyable with plenty of choices for what you wanted to eat and drink. Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable experience.”

“I came to Palmers for a complete overhaul of two bathrooms, my kids bathroom and my ensuite. I had a few ideas however it was Lewis who was absolutely brilliant in bringing those ideas to life, came up with solutions quickly and his 3d images were amazing. John who project managed the whole thing and was at my house almost daily to check all was ok and make sure I was happy, and at the end ensuring he went around making sure everything was in perfect working order. And finally the family dream team of fitters/plumbers, James, Harry and Ben Tranter. Absolutely brilliant, perfectionists, clean, left things spotless, and happy to come over even on a Sunday because I had a tap issue (not their fault) would use them all again, my bathrooms are absolutely stunning guys . “On the 1st of November I had the most incredible 40th birthday party at La Rock. Daiva, Nick and all of the staff absolutely blew myself, my husband and all of the guests away with their exceptional standard of service. Now as regular customers we are used to their high standards but with 55 guests, nearly all of which were drinking they made sure everyone was attended to leaving everyone as impressed as we always are. There was never a queue at the bar, the food was incredible and the way they constantly checked in with me to make sure I was enjoying myself and everything was ok just added to the whole experience. I have the most ridiculously long list of foods I have to avoid and this never seems to be a problem. No matter how complex this gets they take it in their stride and serve me with dishes that look as good as every other guests. Their relaxed and calm manner helped when at times the night became quite overwhelming. I really can not recommend them more highly ❤️”

“Amazing Sunday dinner! We stopped at the Trent Navigation Inn after a long drive back from London in bad weather and were looking forward to some nice hearty food. The Sunday dinner here did not disappoint! One of the best vegetarian nut roasts I’ve ever had and my husband said the beef and turkey were great too!
