“Great place, very clean. Lovely attentive staff. Coffee was fab, scones even better! Defo recommend. So many beautiful cats to enjoy. We will be back! :)”
“The most perfect wedding venue. From the outset of booking this venue Jose was there guiding us through everything we needed to know - not just about the venue, but advice on photographers and the actual ceremony expectations. The venue and grounds are simply stunning, you’d have never known we were so close to Stone centre! We were very lucky to get married outside and it was breathtaking, our wedding breakfast took place upstairs and it had its rustic charm with the beams and wheel, again, with lots of our guest commenting how lovely it was to see the character of the building. The food was unreal, one of the biggest compliments post wedding we got was about how amazing the food was especially the paella! Jose, his sister and all his family & workers that help run The Mill truly make it the wonderful, stress free and magical place to get married. I cannot recommend this place enough!”
“We come here every week. Staff are lovely and so dog friendly. Stone has alot if competition on where you can go but we still choose Bear!”

“Work in Stone a couple of days per week so have been coming in for my lunch. Lunchtime offers are great. Soft drink and a meal for just under 8 quid! Drink served within a couple of minutes to the table and the food is always quick as well! Longest I’ve waited is about 5 minutes for my food. Great service”
“A real gem of a place in Stone. Unpretentious. Doesn’t try to pretend it’s trendy, or anything other than an excellent café. Friendly staff, tasty hot food prepared to order, with good selection of cakes, pastries and drinks. Superb value for money.”
“Lovely place to come for a bite to eat. Friendly, attentive staff. Food was well presented and the garlic and potato soup was delicious. Loved that we could sit indoors with our beagle-who enjoyed her sausages very much! We'll be back again.”
“We stopped here while out for the day celebrating a birthday. Excellent food, amazing portion sizes & prices. All 5 of us enjoyed the food, zero complaints. Great atmosphere & music. We will be returning.”
“Coffee was lovely and I had a bacon sandwich the deal was £4.25 for both BARGAIN. The guy who served me was friendly and welcoming. The food came fast and you serve yourself with what hot drink you like.”
“This is a wonderful little place, helping those with learning difficulties, such a friendly welcoming place, staff are second to none. Lovely simple homemade quality food. Do book though this is necessary because so busy. Lots of quirky goods to buy, plants & few animals. Would recommend a visit”
“We have been regulars for several months now and we absolutely love coming here. It's not just a great cafe but a business we really value as part of our community here in Stone. We always feel welcome and the owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. We've tried most things on the menu and everything we've had has been delicious and of great quality - coffee, cakes, full English, veggie breakfast, baps and more. It doesn't get better than that!”
“Visited on many occasions, before, always excellent service.. booked a table for afternoon tea at £12 each for myself& daughter we specified what we wanted, could not fault it in any way. Fresh selection of sandwiches, cakes to die for and as for the scones definitely home made with fresh cream&jam. Lovely friendly ladies to serve our every whim! It was my daughters b/day and we were given a cake box to take bk with us as just couldnt eat it all. I shall be visiting again soon! :)”
“first time visited, arrrived 1:50pm on Wednesday, all desserts are £5 only. the service was good and the food that we ordered were tasty. buffalo chicken wings almost charged £1 per wing. the confit belly pork, steak pie and sea baa were delicious. both crumbles and sticky toffee pudding with custard were values for money (£5 per dessert on wednesday)”
“Cracking local pub with a small, but carefully curated, selection of cask ales. We regularly visit on Thursdays for the quiz night where you’re well looked after and the midweek munch over winter (£8 for a pint and a good bowl of beef stew) is dangerously good! Be aware that there isn’t a regular substantial food offering but if you arrive hungry they’ll sort something out for you!”
“It is an excellent traditional pub with a bustling atmosphere, serving fantastic Titanic beers on tap. The Plum Porter is a must if you can only have the one!”
“Beautiful part of the world for coffee and cake”
“One of the best haircut experiences I’ve had - Rachel really took her time, listened to what I wanted and made me feel comfortable. Normally really anxious about getting my hair cut but she did such a fab job!”
“Beautiful country pub! We had a family dinner here, 15 of us across 4 generations, and it was excellent for all of us! The staff were attentive, despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon, with lots of other groups in too. What a beautiful, atmospheric place! Welcoming, clean, accessible, and busy - we'll definitely be back again soon.”
“The outside area is a good place on a sunny day.”
“We came as a family group of 6 and a toddler for a 60th birthday party on Saturday evening. The food and service was excellent. I don’t know the name of the waitress but she was exceptional. It was very busy but she still managed to be efficient, calm and find time to listen and talk to us in addition to having to rearrange the tables for another party. Our booking was under the name of Shaw so please thank the amazing young lady.”
“Been to the Old town vaults a few times. Always great well kept ales. Called in on a Saturday afternoon in September. I had the Joules peach lager for the first time. Was a well good tasty ale. The pub was fairly quiet as to be expected in the mid afternoon. Music at a respectable volume. Will be back again soon. Keep up the good work.”
“Such a pleasant place to come too for a pint, as the duck pond and surroundings are relaxing and you can get a coffee/sandwich from the cafe next door!”
“Very nice pub with loads of ales all brewed on site, pub has events on every couple weeks, staff friendly and Ste the gaffa is nice bloke always ready for a chat. They do sausage rolls and cobs and cakes and hot drinks would highly recommend. would highly recommend.”
