   Nice large space, had a sit down carvery, was disappointed with the mac and cheese pigs in blankets, was told 6/7 pigs in blankets and get 4, the mac and cheese was the same as on the carvery so sort of a waste of money in my eyes plus wasn't very cheesey. Carvery was good, 5 different meats and loads of extras, although gravy was not labelled nor were the garnishes. Id have expected more from this branch due to its location of Knowle.

   I came in the other day where I was looked after by Kim, what can I say - she was amazing, very helpful, attentive and had a good sense of humour. My family enjoyed the lovely meal - I can’t wait to come again and try one of the other amazing desserts they have on offer. The Christmas themed music made me feel just at home and the atmosphere was amazing - very cosy and not too loud (just right). Kim came back for a check back and made sure everything was just right - of course it was!

   Came here for breakfast and was very disappointed. We usually only come in for a carvery but decided to try out the breakfast today. We always make sure we check online menus before going anywhere because we are both vegan and require alternatives. We were happy to see online that you served vegan sausages with the breakfast and offer soy and oat milk alternatives for the tea and coffee. Upon arrival, we paid at the bar and asked how to go about getting the vegan sausages. The lady behind the bar said she'd just let the chef know. So we went up and started plating up the rest from the buffet (the rest being hash browns, Tinned tomatoes, and beans, as neither of us are that fond of mushrooms and everything else isn't vegan). Whilst plating the food we were informed there was no vegan sausages and also no oat milk. We genuinely contemplated getting a refund and going elsewhere. But we didn't want to waste the food already on our plates and we also drove a whole hour to get here in traffic. Awful really. Should have been told at the bar. Actually, should just have those things available in the first place. Not to mention that the staff seemed annoyed with our presence and we seemed to be an inconvenience to talk to let alone serve.

   Meal was lovely on this occasion, I visit regularly with friends and family and the consistency on the amount of meat you are served varies considerably. We were served by Lewis, nice, polite and friendly server. Our bill was prepared by another lovely server, can't remember her name but she was efficient and really friendly.

   We were seated quite quickly. There was a queue at the carvery, but the Chef was on form so we didn't have to wait long. Waitress attentive. Food good, yes overall an enjoyable meal.

   We like Toby in general for a value for money roast and often manage this. On this occasion, and I believe was really down to time of visit and turnover for the particular day it was not great. The meats, mainly pork and gammon were very dry and over cooked. The peas were dried out and other vegetables did not shout out to be eaten. I felt that out of the Yorkshire pudding choices the chef tried his best to give me the smallest he could find. The service was very pleasant and the staff in general was great but food, NOT GOOD!

   A bit chaotic on arrival as it was obviously a busy time and there’s not much space at the bar for everyone arriving to wait around to be called to their table. Staff handled it well though and we’re very friendly and got people to their table as quickly as possible. Possibly allowing too many people to book at the same time slots as the queue for the carvery was 20 people long at one point. Maybe having 2 chefs carving the meat options would speed things up. The food was very good, and items were being replenished regularly keeping things fresh. Very good range of meat and vegetables on offer, all in all great value, you just have to apply some patience.

   Not sure what has changed here but whatever it is, it's working. We've been a few times over the years and always found this Toby Carvery to be hit and miss and the food a bit underwhelming to be honest but we visited today as a family of 6 and were blown away by the quality of food and service. Everyone in our party commented on how fresh and nice the food was. Will definitely be back if this is what we can expect. Hand down the best Carvery we've had from a Toby before.
