   I visited with my partner on Sunday. We were presented with a buffet and al la carte menu. Both were lovely, but we opted for the a la carte, chicken in black beans sauce and fried noodles, I have duck in oyster sauce and egg fried rice and of course prawns crackers. . They were fresh and crisp. Our meals were hot and very tasty. We both enjoyed our meals very much. We'll definitely be back x

   We tried this since new management as seen on local social media pages! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We did the buffet, good price and great new ordering system! Restaurant was full which was great to see and a good atmosphere. We would come again!

   I had read the bad reviews and was dubious but the staff were lovely, especially Nicola and Owen. The food was very nice and the ordering system was clear and easy to use. I would definately go again. It may be expensive against some all you can eat places but the food is cooked fresh and served hot instead of stewing in large servers for hours! If you don't want to pay £30 for as much as you can eat then don't go, don't go whinging about it afterwards on Trip Adviser and NO, we were not charged for water! Lovely meal, thank you!

   Well, this wasn't what I was expecting. I generally avoid places with low Google ratings, but my parents love Chinese food and were staying at a nearby hotel. Walking in, I noticed that the restaurant looked completely different from the pictures online. It turns out they have recently taken over the restaurant and given it a complete makeover, as shown in the picture below. There are two menu options: à la carte or buffet. I've heard quite a bit about the buffet option. (Side note: you cannot take leftovers home if you choose the buffet, so don't think you can cheat the system by ordering a lot.) The soups were good—chicken and mushroom, and chicken and sweet corn with vegetables. For the mains, we had sweet-and-sour pork, Cantonese-style sweet-and-sour chicken balls, mixed meat special curry, chicken chow mein, egg fried rice, and chips. The curry tasted different from what I expected. I asked if the chef makes his curry sauce, and I was told that they do. It was nice, and there were plenty of pieces of meat in it. The sweet-and-sour pork Cantonese style and chicken chow mein were the standout dishes. I highly recommend them. You can thank me later! If they keep this up, I can see them reaching a 4.5 rating on Google.

   Place was empty other than my husband an I for the whole of the meal. Noodles were so thin and dry ,was like eating twine . Had the 21.00 buffet meal. But didn't take full advantage of what it includes as couldn't wait to get out if their. Food VERY POOR !!! Lady who served us was pleasant ,but not help full when noodles were mentioned. TOTALY UNDERSTAND NOW why you have to pay for meal BEFORE you've eaten . SPEAKS FOR ITS SELF won't be going back. Had lovely meals there over 10 years ago . What happened ?

   Came here for the first time in 20+ years last night. It has become an at table buffet since my last visit. The food is freshly prepared. It is delicious. It May appear slightly expensive, especially if you do not eat a lot. However the food and service were amazing. Smallish portions of each thing you order which is fine because you just order more if you want more. Will definitely be coming back and will be recommending it to everyone who will listen. In other reviews i read that the atmosphere is slightly lacking. But in all honesty, the atmosphere is what you make it. Amazing overall *****

   Despite the few negative comments for here, we decided to go anyway. 4 people went and found the food fresh, hot and tasty and well presented. The service was excellent, and staff was very attentive so we couldn't fault the restaurant. We will definitely return.

   Me and my partner have just visited Lai Ling buffet for the first time this evening. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, it’s cost £23.50 per person (Saturday price) but the food comes out plated as you order at a good size portion (smaller than normal but this was perfect for a buffet). The food was all hot, fresh and tasty - the quality of the meat was outstanding! The ribs fell off the bone! Some of the sauces were a little too salty, or not flavoursome enough (barbecue ribs and sweet and sour), but overall it was really lovely and not greasy at all. The staff were really friendly, the service was efficient and the food came out in good time. Would definitely recommend the duck pancakes and crispy salt and pepper chicken! The decor inside is quite outdated and the restaurant is small, so not a place for a large party or fine dining experience. We will be back!
