Just been for Christmas dinner at the darrington, wouldn’t recommend! Soup was tepid and the Christmas dinner was freezing cold. No complaints towards the staff, credit to them for working on Christmas Day. Although if you are going to offer Christmas dinner make sure it’s right, if not then don’t open and let your staff have a day off.

Nipped in for lunch. Ordered via the app, drinks arrived quickly by Carl, meal also arrived in good time, cooked lovely and served hot, apparently cooked by Lucas and Thomas. Molly was very attentive and very friendly. Will definitely be back again.

Really looked forward to staying here. The people who checked us in were lovely and really accommodating. We stayed in a double room and for the price it wasn't too bad, but we had no door nob on the door, and no TV remote. The bed was comfy. When we went down for breakfast the next morning we were ignored by the waiting staff and everyone else was served before us even tho we had been there for 30 minutes. We had to go to the bar and order in the end, and it took 25 minutes for the food to come after. I don't think we will stay here again, but the hotel staff are lovely!

Lovely place, very accommodating staff. My husband had the pie and chips, which was excellent, I had fish and chips, my fish was in a pool of grease, which I soaked up with my napkin and patted off the fish. When I mentioned this to the assistant manager, she was very apologetic and offered to replace the fish, I couldn't manage another fish, she suggested a free dessert instead?...the sticky toffee pudding was excellent! We paid just short of £20 for 2 mains a soft drink and a double gin and tonic, there are different offers on most days of the week. We will definitely be back

Wow this place has gone downhill and such a shame as it used to be a comfy place to visit. The place needs to be looked after better. The toilets are not clean and as we came in for a mid morning cuppa noticed food on the carpet. The staff are friendly but not the most efficient.

Worst pub I've ever visited on arrival I stated we had a table booked instead of being shown to our table the staff member just pointed in a general area and said its the big table up there so i asked whats the table number please he then told me the table number we went looking for that number to find a party of people sitting eating there so i asked another staff member who then took us to the correct table the food came out quickly but my friend is vegan and ordered a vegan meal they gave him real chicken after he has started eating it they came out and said sorry we have given you real chicken, they refunded the meal but my friend was really ill after not eating meat for over 15 years, then my brother in law was served frozen food again the meal was refunded but this time only on request. The toilet facilities in the ladies were appalling one cubicle out of order and the room itself just unclean. There were no check backs on the table to make sure other meals were OK either. All in all a terrible experience will not be returning.

We stayed here for nearly 4 weeks. We stopped in 3 different rooms and all of them was nice and comfortable and very clean. All of the staff apart from 1 was lovely attentive helpful nothing was too much trouble even the cleaning ladies chef and bar staff. They even did some washing for us occasionally too. . Food was very hit and miss sometimes it was really nice and other times a bit of a let down. Breakfast every morning was amazing proper nice tea coffee and juices and if we ordered takeout breakfast sandwiches the night before they was ready. A massive thanks to all the staff at the Darrington for making our stay as comfortable as possible due to what was the most stressful few weeks of our lives. You all deserve a medal. I could go on and on.
