   We visited York for the weekend and whenever we go away we always have an Indian and 9/10 we always have the same food (ticka Masala). Being from Birmingham we are very fussy when it comes to the quality of Indian/Bangladeshi food but Bombay spice did not disappoint and we will most certainly be visiting again. The food was full of flavour and the chicken literally melted in your mouth. The service was amazing and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Thanks for ticking all our boxes!!

   I mean, it's not bad. I do think the food lacks flavour which is 'hidden' by Heat and Garlic. I do think the flavour needs to be improved. The location is great, the ambience is amazing and the atmosphere is lively. The food certainly won't disappoint, however compared to what I have tasted in India it is just a few steps behind.

   Pathetic in terms of Indian authenticity. Visited late April 2022 with my wife, sat on the first floor. Very gloomy atmosphere inside, paintings and interiors inherits depression while eating. Food is not Indian authentic. Looks stale and bit chewy to me. Wouldn’t recommend.

   Portion size was good, service was okay, but it didnt taste like authentic Indian. Chef needs to work more on the curries for chicken and veg. It lacked the spices and for some reason there was absolutely neglible salt in the items. Ambience was okay and so was food presentation. Need to do better on the bread also.

   We were visiting York on Halloween weekend and was really pleased to have booked a table here. They have a big menu and a great selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The food was very good and superbly prepared. The lamb dish was so well cooked, the meat was tender and full of flavors. The vegetable dish was very tasty and of good potion. The two naans were very good too. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, and service was very good. We saw lots of ppl coming for takeaway too, so would recommend this if you are in the area and fancy a good curry.
