I can't think of a single thing wrong with this place... staff were polite, friendly, attentive..our waiter Harrison is a credit to them.. the food was amazing too. We had the separate room for our daughters wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect.. the table was beautifully laid when we arrived. Just perfect...thank you so much to everyone...

The Peacock gets Pub of the Year award from me. We've stayed there 5 times now and each time has been lovely. This time we stayed in Barley Cottage; cute, cosy and warm. Really nice. The food is also excellent but what makes it a cut above the rest is the staff. They are the nicest, most helpful group of people. And lots of them are young. We've been going for a few years now and the staff do change but they are always happy, helpful youngsters (in the main) who work their socks off for the pub. We also did the quiz which was very entertaining. Will certainly be staying there again and highly recommend it.

Stayed here for a one night midweek break. The hotel is wonderfully located, for travel around the peak district. The food was delicious and you got plenty of it for your money. Breakfast was also good! The room was very nice, lovely addition of the bath too. Only gripe was the mattress wasn't the most comfortable, we prefer firm but it didn't put a damper on the night. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we're able to come back.

We had a midweek lunch which was first class. Local IPA is recommended, generous portions and varied fresh vegetables support an imaginative menu. Tables are well laid out, sensibly spaced And the interior decor is top quality. The staff are well trained and interested in the food. The food and views are excellent,so worth making the trip out especially on a sunny day.

We visited after hearing great things and reading good reviews. Unfortunately, our experience didnβt match up. When we arrived, we asked if there was a highchair for our daughter. The waiter confirmed and told us to find a table, saying heβd bring one over. We sat down and waited β but despite him walking past us four times over the next 15 minutes, no highchair arrived and no communication was given. We made eye contact with other staff, including behind the bar, but at no point did anyone come to take a drinks order, explain how things worked, or even acknowledge us. In the end, we gave up and went elsewhere. The main issue here is communication. I completely understand that venues can be busy or short-staffed, but a quick βIβll be with you shortlyβ or even offering us drinks while we waited would have made a huge difference. We canβt comment on the food as we never got that far. Weβd like to give the place another chance in the future, but I think staff could benefit from more training in how to actively engage with customers. Update: I have now spoken to James from The Peacock and the response and conversion was very good you can see they do care very much I have updated the review for the time being score wise once we have tried the food and been I will update it further :)

Stayed last night for the fist time. Never ate or visited before. Absolutely amazing rooms super clean designed very well and all your needs catered for including fresh scones and clotted cream in the room.Premium products in rooms and ensuite. Food was beautiful evening meal and breakfast were 10/10. Wonderful friendly staff from arrival to check out couldn't ask for more. Beautiful location, ample parking and pristine in the hotel and pub alike. Unfortunately didn't sleep to good from the noise above which is Unfortunate as the place was amazing...think a heard of elephants must have checked in above us and walked a marathon from 5am! Overall a beautiful place with fantastic attentive welcoming staff. Definitely will return. Hats off to the guy on check in and check out very professional and knowledgeable, and also our waiter for both meals Jack who went the extra mile to keep guests happy. Super staff all round to be honest. Can not believe its took us so long to find this place. Prices of food and wine fair and the quality exceptional.

We stayed for a week & it was fantastic 10/10 & I'm fussy. Staff are friendly & welcoming, food was amazing. Room was presented beautifully & was spotless every day. Sunday was very busy but the roast was amazing, large potions which i wanted to finish but was full. Service for such a busy day was super fast. Clearly a lot of local people eat here which tells you a lot.

Had a two night stay with friends who had been here before. It did not disappoint. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely, fresh and clean. Breakfast was amazing and set us up for the day. Evening meal, hot, tasty and plenty of choice. Will definitely go back. Keep up the good work.

Only had a Sunday dinner but looking at the website there's so much more on offer at the peacock. I had the pork roast and the only tiniest of grumbles I can raise is that I thought the portion of meat served was small. That aside it was a very enjoyable meal. Well cooked, served hot and tasty. Only had to wait 20 minutes on arrival to be seated. The place was rammed. Despite that service was prompt and friendly. Very nice & tasteful decor and layout. Be nice to visit again to sample a larger menu

I've driven past here for over 10 years and always wanted to try, and finally, on NY Eve, we did. It's fantastic. I just wish I'd tried it sooner. The whole ambience was lovely, and the food was amazing. I had the super salad with salmon, which was delicious. My friend had the salmon with gnocchi and white wine and cream sauce. We shall definitely return as its an absolute gem.
