   Came here after the new menu change. It's has vastly improved with lots of different options on the menu that you don't see in many other similar pubs. Drink selection is a bit limited but had decent options. The food was nice and the chips were good. The family sharer was nice to too many mushrooms for me. But my partner was happy

   First time visiting in for several years. Ordered the sharing platter for starters, good size, hot, not much variety but thoroughly enjoyed by both parties. For our mains we ordered the Vegan Chilli Stack, the diced potatoes were hidiously small & cold! The beyond Meat burgers were disgusting, I had to leave, the taste, texture, just vile. We also ordered the 8oz rump which was over cooked & bland. The chips were tasteless as was the gravy, the mushrooms were just pure grease. The staff who bought out our food & collected the plates were nice & friendly, but the young red haired lady that served us at the bar was pretty miserable & rude with zero manners or customer service skills. Would not return, nor would I recommend. Drinks 10/10 Starters 10/10 Mains 2/10 Staff 5/10

   Went for lunch with Family , nice easy menu with varied offerings . Club sandwich was a little bit dry , and bread slightly over sized for portion , salad tasted questionable . Staff pleasant and attentive .

   BREAKFAST WITH SANTA What a magical morning! The staff have pulled out all the stops for the children today! From colouring in to decorating their own gingerbread trees. Santa sat at the head of the table to eat breakfast with the children then they all sat and listened to a story with the big man! Each child received a gift and a personalised photo bauble. Not forgetting the kitchen staff who cooked for 26 kids and then had to deal with adult breakfasts. Well done to all concerned you're a credit to your company!

   Went here on a whim as we were in the area. Waited over 45 minutes for the meal and when it arrived it was basically inedible. My grandma had the beef roast dinner and said it was the worst meal she has ever been served in a restaurant. The whole thing was cold and the meat was so chewy she couldn't eat a single bite. Would not recommend.

   Called in on the off chance, and we were really pleased that we did. Upon entering we were greeted by the barman who made us really welcome.We had the sizzling breakfast which stood up to its name as the sizzles were singing from both platters as the barman brought them over to our table. The breakfast was a delight to our taste buds, all perfectly grilled with unlimited toast and butter, and not a spot of grease in sight. This was accompanied with constant tea or coffee top ups. We will certainly be going back to the Highfield, and I am sure once you give it a try you will also be returning, a little gem. Well done
