Amazing lunch, the food is superb and the service outstanding. We will certainly return, every course of the tasting menu was fantastic. In fact the biggest debate of the day was which course was the best and we certainly couldn’t pick just one. A truly memorable meal.

We visited for a the tasting menu dinner on a Saturday in July and had a fantastic experience! The food was incredible, creative, and balanced super well. It was truly a memorable dinner in every good way! The staff were professional, and we got to chat with the chef and servers when they had time - they were happy to share more about their food and skills! The front room and dining room were both cozy, spacious, and seemed perfectly appointed for area in England. When my international card had an issue, they were beyond helpful in sorting it out. I would definitely go back, and would recommend to others who want a laid-back but delicious tasting menu experience. Thank you again!

I stayed here for one night with my dog, having booked a dog-friendly room in advance. As a university student travelling alone, I’d saved up to take my dog away for a little half-term break, so I was really looking forward to a relaxing stay. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing and definitely not the 5-star experience I expected. When I went down for my dinner reservation, a member of staff came over and said, “We didn’t know you had a dog.” I explained that I had booked for a dog, but she told me that I was in a room meant for people with allergies and that other staff might keep coming over to ask about it. This made me feel really uncomfortable — as if I’d done something wrong — so I ended up leaving instead of staying for dinner. I didn’t want to spend £55 on two courses (without sides or drinks) and have the evening spoiled by staff questioning me. The room itself was nice enough, but certainly not 5-star quality. The bath panel was coming away from the side, which gave a poor impression. Overall, while the room was fine, the staff’s attitude and handling of the situation completely ruined what should have been a special little getaway. It’s such a shame — I’d been really excited for this trip, but left feeling upset and unwelcome. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone travelling with a dog or expecting genuine 5-star service.

We stayed for one night and enjoyed the signature tasting menu and accompanying wine flight. Every single thing about the rooms, the food, the drinks, the service, the staff, the sommelier, the wine, and the ambience was absolutely incredible. Perfectly balanced in all regards. We have dined at many Michelin Starred restaurants in the UK and abroad up to 3* and honestly the food that Chef Patron Mark Aisthorpe and team served last night was the best that we have ever eaten. We will definitely be back. How this place does not have a Star is beyond me - it should have, but even if it does not get one, you do not want to miss out on eating and staying here. I promise you that you will absolutely love it!

We were there for Sunday lunch. The staff were friendly and service was good. Sadly the food was not up to expectations. The roast beef was tough and overcooked. The roast potatoes were a disaster they were heavy and tasted like they had been reheated. Yorkshire puddings again were overdone. The starters were better but overall I had taken the family for a birthday meal and we all left disappointed and underwhelmed. The decor is nice but the back seating area feels a bit detached and cold. Sadly we will not be returning and not recommend.

Since Mark and his team have taken over the Bulls Head, my wife and I and my close family have had a number of meals here and they have all been spectacular. Not only is the food delicious, the presentation is amazing and the available wines are expertly chosen by their sommelier. The tasting menu is a great experience, I highly recommend it.

We had a fabulous evening meal for my birthday at the restaurant. The service, attention to detail, food and drink was of the highest standard. It was so amazing to have a magical quality meal worthy of a Michelin star in our home county of Derbyshire. Hidden gem! Thoroughly recommend for a special occasion. Thank you to Mark, Sharron and Amie for making my birthday unforgettable.

Food was outstanding. Much better than the average pub lunch, even if they were slightly stingey with the (excellent) roast potatoes (though maybe we're just greedy). Sadly though the part of the pub we were seated in was really cold which made it much less enjoyable. Also they only had one real ale on tap and that was just a Spitfire. These issues seem pretty easy to resolve and hopefully they'll do so in future as we would definitely come back for the lovely food.

Absolutely amazing dining experience at last in Chesterfield. Beautiful setting, great service and fabulous culinary delights. Canapes were explained and delivered beautifully to our table. The quality and quantity was spot on you don't think you will be full but definitely are. I wanted to know how the trout was cooked as this was like nothing I'd had before, it was pink slightly smoked and melted in your mouth, the Chef took time out (whilst obviously busy) to explained it was sea trout and how it was cooked. It definitely felt like a personal dining experience and will definitely be booking again soon. Excellent standard, excellent staff!

We visited The Bulls Head for our wedding anniversary meal, we’ve never been before but it had come highly recommended by a few people so we just had to try it and OMG the food and service was exceptional. The chef has done an outstanding job with the menu, we went for the 3 course set menu and with all the extras it was like the food just kept coming and coming. One delicious treat after the other. The staff explained every dish to us and were so attentive, we never had an empty glass and nothing was too much trouble. We’ll definitely be coming back to visit The Bulls Head again in the future. Thank you for such an amazing experience.
