We had a lovely meal here recently! It was very busy but the staff were still attentive and friendly. Food was delicious, and we will definitely return if in the area again.

Really enjoyed the food here. Upstairs restaurant nicely decorated & cosy. Miso cod was excellent & perfectly cooked rump steak. Passionfruit martini also a thumbs up!

We were visiting Chatsworth house and we found this cozy and elegant restaurant nearby to have dinner. Particularly I don’t like pickles on the burger but besides that everything was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice.

Really wanted to love this place - it's got such a charming atmosphere and the menu looked promising, but our service was fairly disappointing. While attentive with other tables, our server consistently bypassed our table while staying clearly engaged with others nearby and seemed to actively avoid our section. What should have been a quick dinner turned into over two hours just to get an appetizer and dessert. He interacted with us as minimally as possible, despite us trying to be polite guests, and rushed the few interactions we had during our experience. We genuinely felt unwelcome and somewhat ignored throughout the evening. Other than that, an alright experience. We shared a cheese platter that was very filling and tasty, and the staff behind the first level bar were very friendly! The highlight of the pistachio raspberry cake is the ice cream. Hopefully it was an off night and others haven't had similar experiences.

Iva was very patient and supportive to get me the booking I wanted. The welcome was really friendly and internally the decor is very contemporary without losing the old world charm of the building fabric. Outside it's a stylish old building and what you find inside is a very nice surprise. A good range of beers, wines spirits and especially ... whiskies. the owner (or the Chef) has not made the classic mistake of modern day eateries of creating a huge menu with nothing particularly well cooked. The Menu here, is well thought through, small (but enough choice to provide most diners with something). The presentation, portions, chef skills were all exemplary on every course. Let's get the only negative we have for the place out of the way, the price range of the wines is high. It's possible today, to get very good wines are more than affordable prices. The choice of wine by the glass is weak; (an excellent example of innovation in wine choice by bottle or glass can be found at annother establishment along the road) However, this point wouldn't stop me going again, we'd either grit our teeth when ordering wine, or drink beer. This is an excellent place for a meal, and while away a few hours relaxing. The 'wine' point already made, takes the Prince of Wales into the 'definitely not cheap' range, but it is still good value for money. Well worth a visit, we'll be going again.

Came here for a Birthday celebration on a mid week evening. The service was fantastic and the food was top class too! Highly recommend to anyone in the area

When you sit down in a well presented pub and look at the menu, you're always ever hopeful that you may be tempted to take a turn off the usual road. That road being the burger, the fish and chips or even the default first exit of a steak. The Prince of Wales has those options, the belly pork looked good on another table but something drew me back to the steak, I'm not sure what it was, but it was a great choice. Probably the best steak I've had in a UK pub in the last five years, cooked to preference with just the right level of seasoning in the pan. Eat here, its well worth it.

We enjoyed an excellent meal here. The welcome was very warm and professional. The food is high quality, and the setting is comfortable. There was a barking dog and rowdy locals downstairs, so sitting upstairs may be advised for a quieter evening.

We were really looking forward to the meal after reading the menu - as it seemed like an above avg kind of gastropub. We ordered 2 persons worth of soda bread and butter, the Sheffield honey butter itself was very nice, garnished with nigella seeds and spring onions. We laughed when the bread arrived. It reminded us of the tiny bread roll on the plane. It was served on top of some popcorn kernels- which is a bit of a waste of food, assuming they don't reuse them. They could have been a bit more generous with the bread so I could properly enjoy the butter. The lamb belly was nice but very fatty with little meat and the beef cheek was extremely salty. The beef burger was very nice though. We enjoyed the pinot grigio. Service was friendly but you can tell they are understaffed- like most places nowadays. We mentioned our feedback when we paid and the manager took in our feedback very well. We feel it has such great potentials but got let down but little things that can be fixed.
