   We have just moved into the Formby area, and were welcomed by the wonderful Kate and her team. They were warm, friendly and very accommodating. The food was wonderful, really really tasty and the atmosphere in The Freshfield was lovely, so cosy and yet with a great buzz. We’ll definitely be back for dinner and drinks again soon!    We were served today by a lovely lady called Kim, excellent service, friendly too. I also witnessed how Kim supported a less mobile patron in the bar - showing patience and compassion. The food was lovely, we will definitely be back for more! Very dog friendly too, our dog loved the sausages!!

   When we are walking from Ainsdale to Formby this is a great pub to stop for lunch. It's in a residential area not far from the station, but you'd never normally walk past it as you don't have any passing traffic. But the locals know where it is. We normally go for lunch midweek and it's nice and quiet. I like this as it means you can get served immediately for drinks. They always have an excellent range of beers and had on 8 real ales when we were there. I tried out the food and had steak and ale pie, which is thoroughly recommended. They have plenty of parking spaces but don't forget to type your reg number in at the bar.

   Went to the Freshfield with my family for dinner. We tried their new menu, the Hampshire Breed Pork Belly is delicious! The staff were very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed.

   Visited Formby beach and then here afterwards for something to eat. I selected this pub based on reviews as it looked fantastic. I must say, the service was was fast, the beer was cold and the food was brilliant. My only complaint is that we had a dog with us so you have to sit in one side of the pub (this is absolutely fine) but it was the side of the pub where the mens toilets are located. I cannot tell you how strong it smelled of urine, it was disgusting. Really off putting when eating a meal. I alerted the manager and she told me the issue is in hand and that it’s the drains. This could have been handled better as no apology offered and didn’t offer to solve the issue by moving us. To give you an idea of how bad the smell was, we was sat at the front of the pub and the toilets are located at the back and it was still a strong smell at that distance.

   This is a lively pub which is very comfortable to meet friends, eat and watch football. There is a good selection of beers and great choice on the menu. From bar snacks to full meals. Sport always on tv so good for keeping an eye on football. Good indoor dog walker section. Also looks good for families. Good spacious garden. Friendly service.
