We love coming to Chi Oriental. We regularly go there and everything we’ve tried - prawn dumpling soup, egg fried rice, mixed vegetables with prawns, BBQ spare ribs, black bean chicken, jasmine tea and bubble tea - has been absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly, they always give us free prawn crackers and their chilli oil is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The place has such a calm zen atmosphere. It’s a bit pricey but the quality and experience make it worth it.

I've been here six times and it's been consistently very good. It's my favourite place to eat in Crystal Palace. I like the fact that it's always peaceful, and the staff are very good. The food is excellent and I've had lots of different dishes.

O stars. I ordered a takeaway via Deliveroo on Friday 21st March for my family, expecting to have a lovely evening. This quickly turned into a traumatic experience, whilst consuming the Chicken fried rice I had a nice bite into a rusty METAL NAIL!!!!!! I was horrified & had to call 111. Raised a dispute via Deliveroo & requested a refund immediately. Order at your own risk, if you fancy eating METAL NAILS!!!!!!!!!

There are plenty of vegetarian options, along with potential to customise dishes to turn them vegetarian or vegan so that is good. The food is well prepared with delicate flavours. The distinction between the bean curd and tofu starter was particularly well done. The spring roll was a little more oily than I would have liked. The bubble tea was good too, although a little sweet. Beware, the sago one is very filling, so if you are looking to eat. The starters are superior to the mains curries. The desert options are limited but the fried banana and fried pineapple were alright, better served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. The presentation overall could improve.

Spent Β£36 on a takeaway for 2. They had a 15% discount so the meal would have cost Β£41usaully. They were the smallest portions I have ever ordered from any takeaway I've had. It seems as if they shrank the portion by 15% as well the the pricing. Now small does not necessarily mean poor quality but on this occasion it did. They meal was the blandest food I have ever ordered from a takeaway. New china wok in Thornton Heath would cost the same amount of money and i would have had leftovers for nearly 2 days plus it would have been utterly delicious. Do no bother with Chi Oriental unless you want 15% reduction in portion size and 100% reduction in taste.

Lovely, quiet Chinese restaurant. First time visiting on a Monday evening, wonderful attentive waitress who really looked after us. The food was so tasty authentic chinese cuisine, nicely cooked and delicious. The ambience was great with lovely soothing music quetly playing in the background. Definetly, recommend anyone going. Not too expensive either.5****

If you are a very very very very very very very patient person, then the Chi Oriental restaurant is for you! We arrived on time for our reservation and noticed there was only one waiter and a waitress who seemed to be terribly overun with 7/8 delivery drivers wearing helmets waiting for their delivery orders. Then, a group of four people who came in about 20 minutes after we arrived were served their orders before us. We daren't say anything to the staff in case they taught us a lesson (if you know what I mean). It was about another 30 minutes later before we were served with our starters! Then we waited a further 30 minutes for our main course. What was also annoying was the fact that they do not answer the phone, they just let it ring and it then rings out. The food is not bad, although, for me, it tasted like it needed a little more salt (very fresh). I cancelled a reservation down the road at Thai Crystal, to try this restaurant, wish I hadn't now!

Visted here on date night. Nice looking restaurant with great decor. Crackers added to the table to start which is nice. The food came out very quick. We ordered steamed rice and stir fry king prawns with vegetables and chicken in peanut sause. The rice was quite hard and could have been cooked better and the stir fry prawns with vegetables was very blan and had no flavour. The peanut chicken had good flavour though and the wine we ordered was nice. Overall good night. Nice restaurant, big and spaceous inside. Good service. I would visit again but order something different.

Very good food and nice staff that brought me a new bowl of rice without any issue when I said it was really dry. I would highly recommend the prawn stuffed aubergine, one of the best veg dishes I’ve ever had.
