I recently held my birthday party at this venue and was extremely disappointed with the whole experience. When I booked, I was told I’d have half of the venue, while the other half remained open to the public. Because of this arrangement, I had to pay for a security guard, my own DJ, and food. Management also reassured me that it would be a quiet place and not very busy. I was told I could set up from 5pm, but when I arrived the entire bar was completely packed with customers. There was no space for decorations, tables, or chairs, even though my party was due to start at 7pm. The manager said he wouldn’t move the public out of the area that we agreed on until security arrived — which wasn’t until 7pm — the same time my guests were arriving. This meant people walked into an undecorated, completely unprepared venue, which was embarrassing and stressful. To make things worse, the venue advertised on their own Facebook page that there would be a “live DJ” that night, even though the DJ was one I personally paid for. Afterwards, they even uploaded a video of my party to promote their venue without asking me or mentioning it was a private event. Overall, the organisation was poor, communication was misleading, and my booking was not respected. I wouldn’t recommend this venue for private events.

I went to this place on a Saturday morning for breakfast and coffee. I paid £20.50 for a salmon and egg toast and an avocado and egg toast, and to my surprise, wheat was brought to our table instead. The plates were poorly presented. First of all, the salmon had dried ends, which indicated it wasn’t fresh (we didn’t even eat it), and the tomatoes were dried out with white ends, clearly cut the day before. Even the bread was the cheapest option—just regular sliced bread—despite the menu stating it was sourdough. That’s not all! The double espresso turned out to be an Americano instead. They redid it, but the same mistake was made. The coffee shop was empty at the time, yet they only started making the coffee 15 minutes after we ordered. Honestly, I’m sorry to say this because the coffee shop has amazing decor, but the menu needs a complete overhaul!

We had booked a table for dinner and they forgot to organise and. Set us up with high low chairs and then gave up and let us sort. The food was so awful, really dry, inedible with no flavour. Cocktails were mixed with so much sugar. Overall avoid. Better off going to the Wetherspoons, at least you know you would expect it.

Very friendly staff for a quiet cuppa and small lunch with tasty, vegan options, great atmosphere plus not overly expensive. Would love to come back again, nice addition to the highstreet!

I like the vibe here. I had chilli nachos without meat and a pint of IPA for around a tenner. Good food and pleasant service. There are other veggie options available. Plenty of parking spaces (for one hour at peak times) but can get busy. Fee paying car park across the road

Poor staff...poor food... Sadly, this is the first ever negative review I have felt strongly enough to write about. I have never taken pictures of food before but thought that I would to support this review. This was the first time that my family had gone out for a meal since lock down. We looked for somewhere that had outdoor seating available (for obvious reasons)-The seating area was very clean and fresh. Throughout the duration of our time here, the staff seemed to be very confused and didn't appear to know what they were doing or what was going on with regards to orders etc. When our food did arrive, it was extremely disappointing/shambolic. Nachos were soggy with a thick like consistency. The topping of sour creme and chicken was better but hugely salty. The calamari was straight from frozen packet-limp and lifeless on the plate. The best part of the meal was grilled halloumi. My husband had a burrito but said that he wish we hadn't gone here to eat- ate it begrudgingly. Kids had a fish finger and chip meal- bog standard, nothing special. The restaurant is participating in the 'eat out to help out' scheme, but I really wouldn't waste your time, effort or money. I understand that the hospitality sector has taken a huge hit during this pandemic, but what we experienced today will not help it move forward in the future. We won't be returning OR recommending.
