Staff not very friendly or welcoming. Coffee stain on the bedside table. The bathroom could have been cleaner. Comfy beds. Walls paper thin so quite noisy. Breakfast was very basic, no tea bags and you had to make your own toast with the cheapest white loaf I’ve ever seen. Bottle of toilet cleaner on one of the tables. I wouldn’t stay here again, not even if I was paid to.

Good place for low budget. If you want a good sleep well this is not the place for you because they have a club at the front and you can hear people singing almost every night. But if you are night owl and alway want to be outside at night drinking beer there is the right place. the floor is old make of tree. you can hear people walk around. But they have free wifi.

Stayed at the place on a Saturday. BIG mistake. When you pay for a room, turns out sleep is not allowed. Loud music well into the early hours. Rooms are small and ok, but as you’re not allowed to actually sleep, what’s the point. I strongly suggest avoiding this place if you want to sleep

Accidentally came across this pub in June 2025 as the name of the pub is my family surname. Lovely beer garden, great drinks prices and really friendly staff. After reviewing the cleanness of the bar and toilets I can only imagine that the rooms are spotless. Very well run establishments. I look forward to going back to here if my work takes me to the area again.

Perfect from start to finish. It was an enjoyable 2 nights. The location is great as you are only about 10 minutes' walking from the coach station and 15 minutes to train station. Free car park for guests. I will be definitely back soon.

A really nice, welcoming pub and hotel. I booked to stay a night for an away match against Birmingham, the ground being about 15 minutes away. The pub has a small bar but the staff are all very friendly and keep the queue to minimum . They have a good variety on tap and I couldn't resist a ham roll that was begging me to eat it, neatly wrapped in cellophane on the bar.... The room i booked had two single beds, it was clean and tidy. Its a good walk into the centre but that shouldn't put you off.

Great pub, very friendly and welcoming staff. Its about 10 minute walk from 02 institute. For town we took a #50 bus from opposite the pub and dropped by bullring for Β£2. Beds are comfy. The room was nice and warm, and the pub down stairs is more than a fair price.

Stayed here to visit Birmingham Xmas market. The rooms are very good. Nice and clean and very warm. The beds are really comfortable. The only problem was,is contractors stay here and from 5am you can hear them walking ( stamping) about moving down stairs very loudly and slamming doors as they leave their rooms. I stayed 2 nights and was woken at 5am. on both mornings. The staff here are very friendly. It's about a 20-minute walk to the city centre or roughly Β£8 for a taxi. I did notice that there is a bus stop across the road, so this would be another option to go into the city centre. I would stay here again, but not through the week,as I did before when they have contractors staying.

Stopped on Saturday for party. Pub is spot on and very friendly. Lovely pint of Workington s. Room was well clean and comfy. Ignore some reviews on here. This pub is great. If you like a bit crack and a good time. The bar staff went out of there way to make us feel at home and very welcome. Would definitely go back. Thanks everyone at the pub. We had a great time.
