Went on a very busy day which wasn't helped by the staff in the store. Stood outside a changing room for ten minutes with my 11 year old daughter waiting for her to be able to try a top on. Plenty of staff walked past us. Eventually we asked one of them if the changing room was available as we were suspicious. They said "that room is closed and not being used". Oh thanks for just letting us stand around like puppets then. Cant put a sign on the door to tell the customers? They didn't care. Then we waited in a massive queue to buy the top she had chosen. They have some self checkouts and when we seen one free that no-one seemed to want to use. We moved past a few people to use it, only for a staff member to jump straight on us and tell us to go to the back of a massive queue. No thanks. We will take our money elsewhere. We left and purchased nothing. If only the staff were as quick to tell us the changing room was not available as they were to tell us we had to go to the back of the queue.

Yesterday, I went to buy a gift for a friend and saw this nice jacket on sale for Β£32. it had another reduced price tag saying Β£52 pounds but it was crossed off with a line. Several other sizes from the same jacket had the same. I bought this at the cashier, noticed in the bill it was Β£52 and immediately turned back to the cashier to inquire. I didn't walk away from the cashier and literally was standing next to it the whole time. Cashier guy did notice me standing there as well. When I inquire, he said he will check and checked from their catalogue the listed price and said it is Β£52 and went ahead to make a comment saying "People put fake tags on cloths" with a look on his face. The way he mentioned it was so unprofessional and I can't see any reason for mentioning that directly to a customer in a rude manner which is clearly biased. I would have bought it for Β£52 but that comment made me request a refund. Here is a picture that I caught to send my husband for his opinion before I bought it which clearly shows the price tags.

River island store at bullring is clean, modern, and well laid out. Clothes are easy to browse, and thereβs a wide selection of trendy items. Staff were friendly and helped me find the right size. The self-checkout tills made paying quick and easy.

Love this store and the staff are lovely. However, the security guard that was working on 12/2/23 was rude. He was following my daughters and mother around the shop like they were going to steal. This has never happen before. Normally we are greeted and bid farewell from whoever is on the door. I know that times are hard and he might think he is doing a great job. But he is not. This type of service makes me not want to return to spend my money and as a mother want to protect my children. This needs to stop. I thought it was just me until my mother challenged him and ensured nothing was going to bleep on the way out. Today was very disappointing. I then went to two other shops and it was a totally different experience. Fantastic service.

Good choice of clothing. Petite section a little limited. But the real star of the show was Ellie, in the fitting rooms who ran around finding everything we asked of her with a smile. We did end up buying the stuff she located for us!
