   Do not go to this dental practice! I was referred by Smile White (also avoid) and attended my first appointment. I was told I will need one filling and then scans will be done for the retainers. I attended the second appointment where a different dentist said I needed two fillings. I had the two done as they said I can't get scans done without having the treatment. They then said the scans will happen on the third appointment. On the day of the third appointment, the appointment was delayed by 35 minutes and at this time, I was ready to walk out but reading the terms and conditions from Smile White, I would be charged for not attending the appointment. I waited until they were ready and the dentist said I needed another two fillings, one being a wisdom tooth. I felt pressured by both My New Smile and Smile White to continue with the treatment as the money had already left my account and a cancellation fee would apply. I really wanted these retainers so I went through with two more fillings. Little did I know they had done a filling on a tooth that already had a filling and not the tooth they said they were going to do! On top of that, they had rushed the entire appointment to get time back and caused me a lot of damage and still suffering from 4 months down the line. I had no problems with the original filling so they had no reason to re-fill it. Once again, scans were promised next appointment. After leaving, I rang them more than 30 times over a three week period and no answer every time. Even Smile White couldn't get into contact following my complaint. My New Smile were so unprofessional and lied to me at every appointment. I have been going to my NHS dentist every 9 months for hygienist appointments and had check ups recently and not once was it brought up I needed any fillings. They were solely trying to get money from me. The dentist was also rude to the dental nurse as well. There never seems to be any reception staff on the desk either.

   The most unprofessional and unorganised dentist I have ever come across. I was assigned to this dentist through smile white to get my aligners. Who smile white themselves regretted instantly.First appointment was told to floss everyday and to come back in 3 weeks? Then when that appointment came up they cancelled the day before because of illness. I wasn’t given another appointment and was not contacted. I rang 4/5 times a day for a week and the phones go straight to answer phone. Would not recommend at all, if you’re thinking of using this dentist you will be wasting your time.

   I was incredibly surprised and disappointed in my whole experience at My New Smile. It was chaotic and unprofessional to say the least. I left having minimal confidence in the diagnosis and suggested treatment plan, leaving me with no choice but to obtain a second opinion. I was told I need a root canal, however I have since been advised that my tooth pain is in fact caused by something else and that it is unlikely that a root canal would have resolved these issues. To put a patient through an unnecessary invasive procedure which would not resolve their tooth pain is completely unacceptable. During my appointment, I also observed what I can only describe as a business meeting in clear ear shot of the waiting room where treatment costs, training and issues with your online portal were clearly discussed which wouldn’t fill any patient with confidence. There was shouting between the dentist and assistant which I was very surprised to experience in what I hoped was a professional environment. I appreciate some of the IT systems were also not running as they should, but I was surprised to be shown images of teeth on google images, and offered to be shown a video on YouTube. Again none of this instills confidence in a patient seeking treatment. I was initially quoted over £1500 for a root canal treatment, which came down considerably when the dentist checked the prices on the system. The time of the treatment also varied. This shows a lack of knowledge around treatment itself and its costs. I understand this practice may lend itself to cosmetic dentistry, in which case appointments for general dental issues which are beyond the scope of the dentists and should be avoided, in my opinion.

   Super impressed with the quality of service and care I’ve had at this dentists. They have been extremely accommodating, fitting in the appointments I’ve had at late notice. Dr Hilo’s attention to detail is amazing and I am delighted with the results of the treatment I’ve had.
