   went for breakfast and there was only 3 other people in the pub. we waited 40 minutes for a breakfast and when it came my husband discovered a tiny piece of metal on his toast. the food is shocking and not worth the money at all. please avoid there are much better places to eat

   Terrible.Called in with my daughter for lunch. I ordered the vegan burger my daughter had beef burger. Order came mine had normal cheese on not vegan when we had specifically ordered vegan burger. Told staff they then cooked another which took over 10 minutes my daughter had already finished hers. Really not good enough in 2025 to not know the difference between vegetarian and vegan. Overall for 2 Burgers and a paltry amount of chips with 2 cokes which on the menu said were free with the meals but obviously were not came to £26 Absolute waste of money.

   I stopped off in Tamworth to visit the castle and when I was finished it appeared to be lunchtime. I made a decision to pop into The Penny Black, just so as not to be rude, and I was pleased that the beer was cold, the staff were friendly and the food was tasty. Well done folks, I would highly recommend a visit here for yourself.

   We had a good experience at The Penny Black in Tamworth! After an afternoon of shopping, we popped in for a bite to eat and easily found a table and were quickly served at the bar. We enjoyed watching the football game while savoring two rare steaks cooked perfectly, a mixed grill, and three delicious fudge cakes. The food was served promptly and tasted great. I recommend this place for good food and efficient service.

   Initially popped in for a quick drink a couple of weeks ago and to watch some football. Friendly bar staff and reasonably priced. Offers on spirits and good selection. Enjoyed ourselves so went again the next week. Bar staff remembered us and even our drinks option which was nice. Chose to eat this time - sharing platter - 5 bowls for under £12. Just enough for both of us and food was really tasty and well presented, not just thrown on a plate. Becoming a regular now as went again for dinner and breakfast the next morning. Well cooked and good sized portion. Lovely mug of coffee. Would be great to see wholemeal bread as an option though. Will definitely be back.

   I came here on November 18th together with my mum, sister and brother for an English breakfast & a coffee. Unfortunately the coffee machine was out of order so we had coca cola instead. We did not have to wait long for our food and it looked quite nice when it came to us, unfortunately the majority of it was cold, only my eggs were warm and the mushrooms were undercooked.

   Very impressed. Good crowd in for the England game. Staff - a fraction of the age of supposedly experienced employees at a certain hotel a short walk away - knew when to take away a customer's glass. A pub run for the punters' convenience and not the producers' interest.

   I booked through the website but when we got there they couldn't find our booking. It didn't matter as it wasn't busy at the time we went so we could pick any table. Food was really tasty, husband said his steak could have been hotter but my food was fine. If I had to nit pick ,our starter came same time as our main meal but other than that nice place and would recommend.
