We’ve been to the Ryder Grill many times for Sunday lunch over the years but was probably over 3 years since our last visit. The food was set out differently to our previous visits but apart from that it was as we remember. It was a particularly busy Sunday with a large wedding going on but this didn’t affect our meal - just a challenge to get seats in the bar afterwards! We were a table of 13 and they put us on a long table next to the desserts so a good location and easy access to the food. We ordered drinks and these took longer than I expected to arrive. When we were convinced all our party had their drinks we set off for the starters buffet. Probably the best part of the meal - lovely selection of seafood, salads, etc. 3 meats were on offer at the carvery and you are served an average rather than large portion. Meat cooked beautifully. Good selection of vegetables and pleased to see thickish gravy this time (always used to be too thin!). Desserts were OK rather than great - a selection of individual portions and a nice cheese selection on the other side of the restaurant. At £39.95 plus 10% service charge (for what?!) it’s an expensive Sunday lunch. The food is better than a typical Sunday carvery but I think it’s starting to feel only average value for money (it’s gone up from £34.95 earlier in the year). Having said that it’s a special place and it was a great location to celebrate my Moms 90th birthday.

I attended a Christmas party here, the service was great. The Christmas dinner was really good in comparison to mothers I have attended this festive season. The size of the portion was adequate. The table service was great, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. A rate service. The overall ambience of the venue is great, the lobby bar is really good, and they had a live band playing after the meal, which played into the early hours.

The food was exceptional and the portion sizes were just right. The ambience was lovely, making it a perfect dining spot. It does attract a few famous people as I witnessed today, lucky day for me today

Visited here on 24/04/2022 with my husband, as part of a deal with buy a gift. We had the 3 course Sunday lunch and I was pleasantly surprised that it was all self serve buffet style. All food was immaculately presented and tasted amazing. The beef was the best I've ever tasted and you can have as many slices as you wish!! Staff are attentive and pop round as soon as you have finished your plates to take away any unwanted items. Thanks for a brilliant meal for our 1st wedding anniversary!

I had an excellent Sunday lunch here. The sirloin beef roast dinner was great and I really enjoyed my dessert, banofee pie as well. Staff were friendly and efficient. The only let down was the coffee as it seemed stewed. Overall a great meal!
