It is a lovely coffee shop/library. Friendly staff, and excellent home made food options, as well as a variety of toasted sandwiches, cakes and scones. Beautiful views of the park

In a word rude! On entering I asked the server, if dogs were allowed and told yes. We picked a table and was then asked to move to another table with no explanation other than is better for dogs. Sat down and chose what we wanted to eat. Went to order at the counter. Was approached by a man who was sat at a desk/ table in the foyer working on a computer and was requested to move again to the table in the foyer. Asked why as flabbergasted at customer service at this point, to be told its for dogs and that people pass the table we sat at with prams (not that our dog was blocking an exit or extry) I asked to stay at the table we were sat at as I was cold and the table he wanted us to move to was at the door! Was pushed into accepting but we got our stuff and left. Felt very unwelcome. We didn't make a fuss or anything that would cause us to be ostrasized like we were.
Good place but shame about the price of the beef stew for a small portion - would have tasted better at 6.95 rather than 2 quid more! Nice quality though; very busy with mums and young kids, but it depends on time you go I suppose. Overall, good but would prefer more genuine and better value.
It’s quiet, serves decent food and a good selection of teas. Slightly on the pricey side, but I’ll forgive that for the fact that no music is playing.
Calm and warm welcoming café in Rowntree Park. Surrounded by lovely nature, and also very kind staff. We've enjoyed our coffee and stunning cookie. Best café to relax your mind and have a little break from everything.
Park cafes have a bad reputation, but this one is done well and has a bit of flair. We stopped by for a cold drink and it was a busy little place for 11am. Tables can be booked and reserved which is a first for a park food place.
What a great little find. We found this place after a brisk stroll in the park and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Friendly service, great atmosphere, yummy coffee and the best bit was that we had to wait 10 minutes for the scones to finish baking! Delicious!
