βSkye won an hour's play at Elementary Dog Park which was kindly donated to help support our local RSPCA summer fair! Skye is a reactive dog and a fence jumper so privacy and security are the most important things to us in a dog park. We felt very secure within the premises, with parking spaces for multiple cars within the park and proper 6ft fencing with no nearby mounds to discredit the height! Skye loved zooming across the field and using the equipment. Then spent half her time recovering in the shade. Thanks for donating the session, we'll be back again, no doubt!!β
βThe BIGGEST thank you to Tom who helped me with ski boots - the most patient & friendly member of staff I could have hoped to come across. Not only this, but he was extremely knowledgeable about ski boots, the correct fits, and even the sport itself. Nothing was too much, despite trying on and needing him to adjust multiple pairs of boots. Tom is an absolute asset to the store - thank you so much.β
York Dental Practice is a professional oral health center located in the Pioneer Business Park in York. The clinic offers an extensive range of services, from routine hygiene appointments to intricate root canal work and cosmetic veneers. The specialist team is dedicated to the conservation of teeth, prioritizing restorative treatments over removals whenever possible. Patients can benefit from various dental plans, and the practice also provides NHS services for children. Every procedure is explained in great detail to ensure patients are fully informed and comfortable with their care.
βDropped off our car with a couple of issues, new water pump & auxiliary belt diagnosed & fitted in the same day. Brilliant service.β
βI went to screwfix as an ignoramus. I measured everything, had taken photos and had some idea what I wanted. The guys at Screwfix, Monks Cross were superb! They didn't treat me like an eejit, they were very respectful, knowledgeable and honestly, could not have done any more for me. They showed endless patience and solved all bar one of my problems. The one unsolved problem, they gave me suggestions on where to go for the part I need. I was really worried about going into a place like this, knowing what I wanted but not knowing how to ask for it and looking a complete idiot. I won't have those worries again, thanks to the guys at Monks Cross Screwfix, one of which was Tom, didn't get the other guy's name, but he had a grey beard. I will from now on, continue to go to Screw fix every time I need some, safe in the knowledge I am likely to get exactly what I need, with expert advice, all at a reasonable price. Faultless Screwfix, thank you again for your patience, expertise, understanding and professionalism, very impressive.β
βAmazing customer services - Nick was fantastic and went the extra mile to be helpful! I could not recommend more, Nick was extremely friendly and used his vast knowledge of available products to help me chose a compact and highly efficient pressure washer! I could not be any happier with my experience!!β
βIncredibly well designed and maintained gardens that are attractive all year round. The annual themed garden (this year Wallace and Grommet) is always a treat, and the playground is very well equipped for all ages of children. The Meadow section, with its more natural design, has come a long way, and is great for a stroll or a picnic. Probably our favourite gardens in York. Would benefit from a permanent cafe, but the Explore Library mobile Cafe and tent are good, and the Youth Hostel cafe (good coffee and cakes) is only a short walk around the corner.β
βNice campsite within a wooded area. Toilets and showers lovely and clean. Also washing up area with washing machine and dryer available for a fee. Nearby dog walk. Nags Head pub a good walk away but worth it as food excellent. Would not hesitate to book there again.β
βSo had a take out delivered to our campsite, delivered on time, delicious food, big portions, hot, well packed and really tasty, definitely order again, highly recommended.β
βAmazing experience from booking through to receiving my scan results. My GP refused me a scan on my foot and ankle after I was given 4 diagnosis from physio and GP but not seeing an improvement in my condition. So I booked with ultrasound direct to pay privately to see what was going on with my foot and ankle. I was given a warm welcome at york and the scan was completed quickly and I now have a definitive diagnosis to work with....albeit something none of the physio or GP considered! Really happy with ultrasound direct and I wouldn't hesitate to return in future if I needed to.β
βJust got back from a wonderful trip to york, the market, and Christmas lights werea joy. The naburn lock caravan site was fabulous, great staff very very helpful ( special thanks to Kevin for all his help) The amenities so so good, first time I've not used our caravan shower so I could enjoy the large brand new shower suite ;) Love adult only quiet site, with large pitches. Will go again xxβ
βA lovely park with lots of interesting pathways. Great for dogs too. Super colours in autumn and the walkway would be awesome in summer as it is covered in Wisteriaβ
βExcellent park within easy reach of York. Has an excellent play park which my daughter loved. It's well kept here.β
βBeautiful hotel, very close to train station and a short walk from the main shopping area of York. We had a lovely visit, and most of the staff were very courteous, welcoming and friendly. The room was well presented and we had a very comfortable bed. It is a higher priced hotel and you could see the attention to detail and little touches that made it special. We were slightly disappointed that we didn't receive the same warm level of greeting as other guests. It was a stay we'd saved for and had looked forward to very much. It was obvious they had regulars, which is fantastic and means the hotel gets it right as a general rule. But it would have been nice if we'd had a little conversation with the check-in member. The couple being checked in next to us were being asked very general questions like where they'd travelled from, creating a little conversation, but we didn't get the same; just a hello and asked about what card we wanted to put on file for incidentals and then silence. I did attempt to make a little polite conversation with the receptionist but it was clear that they were not interested. It made us feel a little awkward. Asking simple customer service questions makes guests feel welcome and at ease, which we didn't experience at that point. On checking out it was better; we were asked if we'd enjoyed our visit to York, where we were going back to, etc. It made us feel more welcome, even though we were checking out. All in all though, our check in experience hasn't put us off booking in again at some point. Chances are it was an exception to their usual level of service.β
βHad the Armadillo experience, worth every penny. The keeper Ryan was very knowledgeable and passionate about animals, and the environment, learned a lot. The armadillos are soooo friendly!!! Spent the day the there, the animals are well looked after, great park, lovely friendly staff. If you visit now they have baby meerkats !!!!β
βFriendly, fast, efficient and great products at great prices. This particular branch is very well located for those who live centrally too, it's walking distance from the city centre, rather than having to drive out to Clifton Moor.β
βFirst time going here today, and Iβve never ever seen owt like it!! The place is insane, so so much to do and keep the kids busy all day. We was here from 10.15am till 4.10pm. If it wasnβt for needing to get our train back to Leeds weβd of stayed until the place closed. All the staff were friendly, polite, smiles on their faces. They were there to help if needed! The boys were gutted to go home, and are already dying to come back again!! Thank you for such an amazing day, and for a big well done for all the staff working 21/08/25, you worked your backsides off!! Xxβ
βA real hidden gem, clean and has had a big upgrade lots of new bits for all ages. Never overly busy and even with lots of parties (which are also fab we've had one here.) there's so much to go and lots of trampolinesβ
βLocation - great, 10 mins walk to York. Staff - friendly and super efficient, a pleasure to see a team working so well on a very busy breakfast shift - much better than many large corporate chain hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast - decent breakfast with a good range of options. Room - good size, very clean and warm. Parking - very reasonable price for parking in York. Stay again - definitely. Value - very good. Recommend - absolutely. Overall - spot on, far better than many places we've stayed in.β
βVery informative & helped us plan our day.β
βWhat a great little find. We found this place after a brisk stroll in the park and it couldnβt have been more perfect. Friendly service, great atmosphere, yummy coffee and the best bit was that we had to wait 10 minutes for the scones to finish baking! Delicious!β
βIt was wet(again). We had the grandkids. They needed to burn some energy. An ideal spot. Plenty of equipment but beware of other children. Some can be using parts which are too old for them.β
βI had my second knee replacement under the care of Mr Cash in September. Everyone at the hospital were really kind and caring. Mr Cash explains everything in laymanβs terms and is very approachable. A good experience all round.β
βGreat place to stay, great for just adults or with children. we stayed in our camper van. Great pub on site all the facilities you need would highly recommend.β
βGreat service. Booked easily, straight in, tyres changed and back out. Really friendly guy on entrance and also let us a charger for my son to play on his device while waitingβ
βGreat little hospital realy friendly and helpfully staffβ
βIβve just returned from Nuffield York after a hernia operation, and the care I received was outstanding. Mr. Chitsabesan and the whole team were fantastic β professional, kind, and reassuring throughout. Nurse Tori Rosheen was especially helpful and patient, answering all my questions with a smile. The facilities were spotless, calm, and comfortable. I felt completely at ease and very well looked after. Thank you Nuffield York!β
βThis is our own experience with this business, and we know different clients will have different experiences β but we always leave reviews based on the service we received when we ordered or visited. Review for: Moxy York β Black Horse Lane, York First Impressionsβ¨Moxy York immediately stood out with its fun, urban, and modern vibe. The downstairs area is full of character, decorated with eye-catching urban art, hanging pod chairs, plenty of selfie spots, and even a photobooth complete with dress-up hats and caps. The luggage carts by the entrance were incredibly helpful when we arrived with multiple suitcases. The overall first impression was stylish, energetic, and welcoming. Cleanliness & Safety Concernsβ¨The hotel was clean throughout β from the reception area to the lifts and guest rooms. The lifts are secure and wonβt operate until you scan your room key, which we appreciated as an added safety feature. CCTV inside the lifts added an extra layer of reassurance. The bathrooms, both in the public areas and our room, were spotless, and the baby-changing facilities downstairs were spacious with a wide sliding door that easily accommodates a pram. Food Qualityβ¨Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of hot and cold options, good coffee, cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, and a variety of juices. Gluten-free options were clearly available, and we loved the sign that mentioned vegetarian sausages cooked to orderβjust ask a staff member. Everything was well stocked and fresh. The bar also served well-priced soft drinks, and we appreciated the free pints of cold ice water when requested. Ambience & Surroundingsβ¨The ambience at Moxy York is playful and modern, with thoughtful design details such as bright pink filler used deliberately to highlight cracks in the concrete floorβturning something ordinary into part of the dΓ©cor. Thereβs a beer garden, a pool table, books, board games, magazines like Empire, and even a free retro Street Fighter arcade machine. Everywhere you look, thereβs something creative or fun. The hotel feels lively yet relaxing, perfect for groups, couples, families, and students alike. Service & Atmosphereβ¨Every member of staff we interacted with was polite, friendly, and eager to help. The front-desk team created such a welcoming environment. We loved the gesture of a free cocktail or mocktail each on arrival. They even had special offers like a 20% student discount and a free mimosa for graduates on the day we visited. Dog owners will appreciate the custom stand at reception with water bowls for both large and small dogs. Small touches like free cucumber water at the bar and umbrellas available to rent added to the sense that Moxy pays attention to guest comfort. Facilitiesβ¨The hotel offers lots of thoughtful amenities: A well-equipped workout room directly opposite the lifts Fast, clean lifts with fun selfie-style Instagram templates inside Monthly event notices and clear signposting throughout the hotel A first-floor ironing room accessible with your room key Modern, comfortable guest rooms with sensor lights under the bed (perfect for late-night bathroom trips), air conditioning, USB ports, a European plug socket, a wing-backed chair, a kettle with tea/coffee and Biscoff biscuits, and secure locking feature. Bathroom amenities including shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, and body wash The room was quiet with no banging or noise from other floors, leading to a very peaceful nightβs sleep β something not all hotels manage successfully. Although there is no on-site car park, there is a Q-Park nearby and several other parking options within walking distance via parking apps. Signing up for Marriott Bonvoy is worthwhile too, as it makes Wi-Fi sign-in quicker and lets you collect points. Overallβ¨We wouldnβt hesitate to recommend this hotel and look forward to staying at The Moxy in York again on our next visit. I hope this honest review helps others make an informed decision.β
βThis is a nice campsite and is well maintained. It is in a good position to explore the local area including York. There is some slight road and air noise but it wasn't enough to bother us. The owner is really nice and willing to help if you need it. The facilities are well maintained . I would recommend getting a fire pit too, they are very nice in the evening.β
