“Beautiful room, great location. Had a lovely overnight during our 2 week UK trip. We stayed in the 4 poster room - bed could have been a little more comfortable (thin mattress, no boxspring), but the room is sweet and the bathroom was nice and modernized with a spacious shower. The location is unbeatable - on a lovely quiet historic street while still being super close to the train station and great walking distance to the center. Self check in was seamless and easy. Would definitely recommend!”

“We booked this in advanced as no bookings on gate, so happy we did, it was fantastic! We had 2 adults and 1, 11 year old with us, and couldn't recommend enough!! We turned up at 09:45 and stayed until 1400, the Q lake was super clean and facilities - shower, toilets and changing rooms all well kept too. We stopped off at the cafe on our way back to the car and had pizza and chips - delicious!!! Food was fresh and tasted yummy! Next time we visit we will most likely camp over as well to make a weekend of it. We will be back!!! Thanks for a great experience Pool Bridge Farm.”

“One of my favourite Thai places in York. The food here is absolutely delicious and great as a dine in or takeaway option. The gluten free options are clearly labelled on the menu with quite a few different dishes being gf. The only thing to note is that when I said I was a coeliac, I was told the gf labelled fish cakes wouldn't be suitable due to cooking methods creating cross contamination. While it is really good that the staff are so well trained in dietary requirements and were able to tell me this clearly to prevent me from getting poorly, it is a shame that something labelled gluten free on the menu wasn't ultimately suitable for coeliacs. They instead advised a different gluten free starter which ended being fantastic.”

“Positive feedback where it's due. While in the process of loading up my car with several 2.4m sleepers, I was approached by a chap (clearly on his break) who offered to help me out. I politely declined......... But shortly after I thought to myself "what a kind gesture". Friday 2nd May around 5.30pm. if this individual can be identified, please pass on my gratitude. This is why i shop at Selco. It's the little things like this which makes the difference.”

“When looking for a place to eat we seen this place on Google. We were staying around piccadilly was around 10 min walk from there. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and did everything to make sure you enjoyed the food and your time there, lots of advise and options on food if you weren't sure about anything. Food was amazing and did not have to wait long for it. Great atmosphere lots of laughter from staff and guests. We didnt book but we went at a early time at 4 as it did start getting busy around 5. Will 100% go back here to eat.”

“This is an amazing place. Placed a in lovely location just outside York. The Glamping pod we had was very clean and tidy, nicely presented. All facilities were great, easily accessible. I only graded the service low, as we never saw any staff members on arrival, or departure, but I received lots of clear communication via email to direct us during our stay. We would definitely visit this place again.”

“I had a lovely stay at The Grange Lodge in York. The location is perfect—peaceful and tucked away, yet just a short walk from the heart of the city. It was the ideal base for exploring York’s historic streets. What really stood out, though, was the room service: consistently prompt, thoughtful, and delivered with a genuine warmth that made the experience feel truly welcoming. It’s the kind of place that strikes the right balance between comfort and convenience. I’d be very happy to return on a future visit.”

“A bit out of town because of the “nothing higher than the Minster” rules in York. A bugger to travel to from the centre. Saw - I SCREAM - excellent film. The whole place for a Wednesday night was a bit deadsville gulch.”

We come to this store all the time to pick up any items we need and we love the atmosphere, the staff, especially the youngsters, are super friendly and always make us feel very welcome! ☺️”

“We use the Leeds East hotel regularly but our visit this weekend was a really great experience. Young man on reception was very welcoming and professional. A special mention to the lady who put some treats in my daughters room as she heard it was my granddaughters 2nd birthday. What a lovely touch. And finally the lady in the breakfast room who was so lovely with my young granddaughters giving them a chocolate biscuit and a balloon each. This service was really welcomed so thankyou all and apologies I didn’t get names of the people who really made a difference.”

“Went here on my day trip to York and the food was absolutely delicious. Came out piping hot and plated beautifully. The service was also extraordinary and the waitstaff went out of their way to make me and my friends feel accommodated. “Fantastic food and service! Been ordering from this place a few times now and really enjoyed it! I ordered tonight and accidentally pressed collection instead of delivery without realising. They rang me to tell me after time passed and they still managed to deliver it to me really quickly and the food was still hot. I even got a free cheesy garlic bread even though it was my mistake! Very generous thank you! :)”

“Canny little place to stay, self contained/ self catering accommodation, has everything you need. Really cheap considering there is cooker, washer/ dryer, microwave, fridge, tv,WiFi and more and obviously bed, wardrobe etc and your bathroom. Staff and owner are extremely pleasant and helpful and the owner will go out of his way to accommodate you. Self check in, with info messaged to you on the day nearer the time of check in. It's a real easy process. City centre is only a few minutes drive or an easy short bus/ taxi ride. I've stayed here a few times and will continue to book here when I'm in Leeds.”

“All of the staff are helpful and friendly. Conor, Tania and Holly and others have done their best to try to find me some shoes to fit my dodgy feet. I wear orthotics, have a left size 7 and a right size 8, both wide, one flat which has had surgery and both are painful. I have returned numerous pairs after trying them at home and not once have I been viewed as a nuisance. They go out of their way to try to find shoes to fit. I have no hesitation in recommending this store and will return once the autumn ranges are in stock.”

“Lovely service and great discounts for students. My partner and I were doing our weekly shop last week. Once we had got to the end of the till ready to pay, the staff member linn/lynn(unsure of the spelling) asked if we had everything we needed and also asked if we were students. They couldve have just let us pay but instead let us know about the student discount and grab our Id. She saved us money on our shopping and was lovely to speak to. Will happily go again.”
