Store okay. Could be tidier which made it a little stressful to find what we wanted. But what really let the store down was the service (or lack of), from Jack - the Gentleman on the front desk/tills - Very rude and miserable, didn't have the common courtesy to look you in the eye when answering a question - no hello, goodbye or thank you... Not a great representation of the brand. Visited around 10am on 29/10/25.

Click and collect ordering: Order 1 item fine, you only collect if it can be picked. Order 8+ items, usually takes 1 full day (not 1 hour as the website states) for order to be picked and then a third to half the items cannit be picked - you must cancel all or collect part of your order, meanwhile your card was charged up front the full amount lwavibg you waiting days for the missing items' refund. They say online that it is in stock, when in reality they cannot pick the items off inaccessible pallets in the warehouse! Poor stock management system.

Having bought and paid for 7 items on click and collect, I travelled 55 minutes to the store to collect them. At first I was told that I would have to wait for the confirmation email, telling me that they were ready for collection. After another 2 hours I were told that they had no one working in the warehouse to pick the items. I waited another 4 hours and still heard nothing so I phoned the store. After giving my order number, I was put onto a manager, which was a bit strange, as I had not asked to speak to a manager. He then told me that all of the items were out of stock and so he had cancelled my order. This was obviously very strange, that having previously checked and all the items were in stock, now I was being told they were not in stock. So I had a wasted 2 hour round trip. I had been to the Wrexham store the previously day and I cannot recommend them enough as my items were ready within the hour of ordering them but unfortunately they did not have the items that I needed today but I will never go to the Range store in Chester ever again and looking at some of their reviews this seems to be a common problem.

having seen a product and asked if it was in stock, I was told there are 2 in the warehouse but they cant be accessed. He said to keep popping in over he next few days! I aske if I could reserve? No, you have to keep popping in till the item is available in the store! what if its sold out? That's just the way it is, I was told. I decided to call the store the next day to check stock. The phone was not answered, 3 occasions, allowing the phone to ring for more than 4 minutes! I tried the customer help, chat function! that is only for customers with an order number........! so don't try to get any help on there. The website advises you to call the store direct for help! but they don't answer the phone. The one store in a 20 mile radius that did answer the phone, went to check the stock, but left me on hold for 20 minutes....... I had to ring off......

Great at what it does, but not a specialist hardware store. Not the place to go if you need something distinctive for a project but a brilliant place to browse and stock up on various things as the prices are good and they have a good range.

Very good Range shop on the Chester Retail Park. It's got every thing for the house, garden, pets, toys, arts and craft. I even noticed stand up paddle boards for sale. There's a nice cafe and more shopping on the first floor with a lift or stairs to take you there. I got a cheese toastie, packet of crisps and cappuccino for £5 on one of their meal offers. The staff are very helpful and will walk with you to find anything you've not been able to find for yourself. There's a large free carpark and many more shops beside it.
