We took a friend from down south for tea last night and had a lovely evening, thank you for everything. I had the chicken liver to start followed by the pork belly, food and service weee impeccable!

What a lovely place. I had been recommended The Kicking Donkey and it did not disappoint! Lovely welcoming countryside pub. Drinks brought to the table. I had the Pate of the Day and Scouse, my husband had, Black pud fritters and Steak. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would visit again

It is decades since I was last at the Kicking Donkey. Went on a whim on a late Saturday lunchtime. Turned out to be a great decision - the food was lovely at reasonable prices for quality and portion size. The service was spot on; helpful and pleasant without being over the the top. And it's dog friendly which is a bonus. We will be back.

Decent tasty food and a couple of real ales in an olde country pub. It's well worth a stop or a trip out.

First time dining for my wife and I. Beautiful pub cosy open fires and warm welcome. I had the fish pie and my wife had the root vegetable and cheese pot pie both delicious. Will definitely visit again with the rest of the family.

We went as a last minute table of 10. They managed to fit us in plus the dog. The food was great! They are big portions too. Will be returning. Nice selection of drinks and very friendly staff.

Service good, food poor The starters were ok but the steak pie mains were very poor indeed. There was ALOT of fat , more fat than steak and the gravy had no taste. The chilli wasn’t fatty but was pretty tasteless too The lady serving us didn’t charge for the pies as she could clearly see the issue and offered free puddings, which we declined. She was apologetic and very pleasant. Maybe we were unlucky but unfortunately, despite reading good reviews, we didn’t enjoy this experience at all.

Absolutely amazing food. One of the best steaks I have ever had and the chips were equally amazing. The lady serving us was really attentive and had a great Manor. The place is full of history and is a place I will be going back to more often. Thanks for a great time !!!!!
