Lovely place but most other reserves we visit aren't as crowded. Didn't see any dog poo or poo bags anywhere which made a change, but when you visit a place to see nature and there are so many people running, cycling, swimming, horse riding you do wander how much nature is scared away. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, we just timed it right as someone was leaving a space as we arrived. Cafe was nice, mint aero blondies are lovely.

I loved it here the 1st time I visited, so much so that I came back the next day, in the evening, with the family. It was such a let down because the place was full of large groups of people sitting around the 1st pond, swimming, drinking and listening to loud music. They were riding around on electric bikes and standing around in hoardes so we had to walk around some different paths to get to the car park. It was so nice once past here, but it was too far for my partner to walk so we couldn't really enjoy it. Not peaceful, not quiet, not a haven for wildlife. It's a joke, especially when you're expected to keep dogs on a short leash to keep the birds from freaking out! In the day.. 5* but in the evening it's just not worth it.

Love this place, great walks around the reserve of which there are plenty, a little owl and kestrels from the moment into the reserve. Various lakes and waterways with great viewing points. We had two roe deer jump out onto footpath feet away from us on our first visit. Vast array of wildlife to be seen here, it will be one of our regular places to visit. Been three times now in first month of being members, highly recommended.

This is a fantastic place to visit just for a walk and to be at one with nature. Great for bird watching and photography. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of pathways to walk round. There are toilets, cafe and picnic tablets. Highly recommend a visit and we will be back.

Great place to swim . Absolutely love the views also it was so hot day that the water was so warm . Never ever heard any place you can swim in Leeds , but this truly is safe for swim . There is a group who doing full moon swim sessions at this lake which is interesting event. I did not try but probably will join. Absolutely stunning walk with birds and nature . Hiking possibilities with beautiful views . I will definitely come to see this beautiful place again . There is public toilets available and also cafeteria with amazing views .

Stunning scenery & wildlife... Great a cafe with a good selection of cold & hot drinks & delicious range of cakes. Easy access for all both in the cafe & around the reserve... Toilets are kept clean too.

Love this place. Choose from long or short walks. Several watery areas. Large open areas, not much shade in hot weather and can get very muddy in wetter weather. Large amount of waterfowl to see. The birds are very loud in spring.

Absolutely beautiful scenery, lovely to walk round (choose your route carefully, the long route is a lot further than it looks!) Plenty of parking for £4 all day, or if it's busy you can park on the road outside. Friendly staff in the little cafe which is reasonable. Lots of birds to see, depending on what time of year you go, and March - June you can hear a bittern booming which is ace. Highly recommend.
