Hired the function room for a 60th birthday and I’ve gotta say that it was faultless. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. I highly recommend. They organised the dj for us so we had nothing to sort out apart from decorating the hall how we wanted it. Great job so thank you to all the staff who gave us a night to remember xx

This pub turned down a good night's takings because they're too scared of grumpy intolerant neighbours. What a shame that such a historic pub with such musical heritage no longer accommodate live bands... No wonder pubs are closing by the dozen! What's the point of having a music licence if you don't allow music?

This place is crying out for a make over! However, the staff were friendly. Toilets were clean enough. Didn't have a great ale selection so I went for Guinness instead. Drinks were reasonable priced. If you like horse racing and football then this is the place for you.

Barmaid was lovely and polite. Guinness was nice. Not many people in but it was early. Football on TV when I entered but changed to its namesake (racing) shortly after. No real ale but as I usually drink Guinness or cider this wasn't the end of the world for me. Nice clean place

The Place looks nice on the outside. But the inside looked dingy, outdated and furniture was tearing. there was a young boy in his 20s that was very rude, he came out from somewhere and zipped up his pants and said to me and my husband what you want and realised he works behind the bar. The young girl behind bar was lovely with a nice smile but lacked customer service. The atmosphere was not nice and there were two young people who were fighting about drugs and the bar staffs looked on in enjoyment betting who would win and they did not stop the fight until one of them landed on the table. There seem to be just asbo kids hanging around and no adults so we didn’t bother finishing our drink and left. I decided to inform someone of this establishment months ago.

Was there for funeral wake for my Cousin. It was his local, the Landlord Jamie and young lady serving were very welcoming. Jamie's Dad also. My Cousin was a 'Regular' so Jamie was also at his funeral service, which was a nice thing to do. The food was perfect and delicious. As it was quite early in the day we started the wake on tea but I then had a tasty wine & lemonade spritzer, it was lovely. Well done to all the team at the Winning Post for respectfully giving my Cousin a grand send off.
