Tucked away little gem, good beer, rustic beer garden (some picnic tables in a grassy space), real fire, no crappy muzak. Coffee wagon at the back for walkers etc.

We went to The Bell for the first time last night (7pm Friday evening) and were so pleasantly surprised …. what a wonderful little pub …… like going back in time …. there was a DJ who played music from the 70’s and 80’s, which was perfect for us as we’re not youngsters! Surprisingly busy considering it’s tucked away in the woods. Highly recommended for a Friday evening.

All the reviews are pretty consistent and accurate. The Bell is like a hidden local pub in the middle of the woods for passing travellers. Entering the pub is like a step back in time - the decor, children not being allowed inside, the cantankerous landlord behind the bar, horse racing on the telly… Personally I like it, and on a sunny day it’s a welcome break to sit outside in the sun, by the swamp, with a cold beer.

An outstanding location. In the UK most decent pubs are dog friendly, historically it’s part of the culture to be. On entrance with a dog you need to make sure that you enter through the correct door. The front door that is on the right side. Toilets are small and need updating as pink paint is flaking off the tiles. Friendly locals/ staff.

The only real pub in the area, a public bar, a saloon bar, no children but dogs welcome. Open 4:00pm to 11:00pm Surrey Hills Shere Drop on tap and it's in good form! Bands back on occasionally, it's worthwhile keeping an eye out for the Curry evenings.

Enter a time-warp gem, great pint, roaring open fires, fab atmosphere!

I get that the rule is no kids in the bar but everyone should be aware that it is an absolute ban and the kid can not even go in with you whilst you buy the drinks. I do not mean this as a negative but probably a great place to go if you want the world to return to the good old days.
