had a great experience with my car service at Beckenham Halfords. The team was professional and knowledgeable, and the service was clearly explained from start to finish. I was kept updated throughout. Everything was completed efficiently and to a high standard—would definitely recommend.
First time I used Halfords MOT service. Warm welcome at checking in. Good communication. Efficient check-out. I have now booked an interim service for my vehicle in 3 weeks' time. Very happy!
I booked the car in at 9.00am. I was asked to come 10 minutes before my appointment time, which I did. I was then told the tyres would be fitted within the next two hours. I came back and they had still not fitted the tyres. I was told 30 to 40 minutes more. Another hour and my car was ready. What is the point of booking a specific time when they clearly had no intention of completing the work then? In addition whilst waiting the mechanics were kicking a ball around the workshop hitting the cars that were in there. Most unprofessional! I won't go back there!
Bit of a glitch with the online booking but not the fault of the Beckenham centre. Two tyres supplied and fitted for a great price. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Poor service. I came last Saturday to the garage, my booking was at 8:30 am. When I arrived at the garage,the staff from reception told me that I couldn't park in the customer parking even though it was empty. He told me to park elsewhere and give him the keys. I came to do wheel balancing, and he told me it would take half of the day. When I came to pick up my car, I saw straight away that's something was wrong, the old weights were not removed, patching new ones unevenly and were loose and I told reception. The staff from reception told me to wait in front of my car and he'll send the person that did the wheel balancing. That person came to me after I showed everything. He told me that he had forgotten to take off the old weights, and if the new ones falls just come again. I told him if he could fix it properly, but he refused and told me to leave. I made a complaint to Halfords office and am waiting for results. I'm warning you guys not to go there to have problems, like me. I'm adding pictures of their work.
Called to see if they could do a MOT retest the next day, told yes come down at 8am they will do it, get there, car is in the garage, told I'd have to pay, which I was happy to. Then to be told no they can't do it, and I have to book it in. What a joke, I wouldn't have wasted my time with this place if I knew they couldn't do it. Will never go back to this place, they haven't got a clue about customer service. Took my car to the garage around the corner, who was happy to do it, to be informed Halfords pull this stunt all the time.
I wound NOT recommend this place at all. I took my car to change two tyres (one was punctured) to the branch in Beckenham. They replaced the tyres. They should have been inflated to 36psi as indicated by the manufacturer. Instead, when I left, they had been inflated to 32psi. The low pressure warning was triggered as I drew off. I returned to the branch and they told me that is the correct pressure on their system. I said the manufacturer recommended something different. They said they go by their system. I said I couldn't drive the car because the low pressure warning was constantly sounding. They took the car back and this time they inflated the tyres to 39 psi! They said their equipment is analog and they can't get it to an exact pressure, only an approximate pressure, but that it should be okay. I am absolutely shocked that I was charged £181 and the equipment they use is so inadequate that they can't even put the right pressure into tyres. To make things worse the guy recommended I went to a petrol station and do it myself on a digital tyre pressure machine.
Just had my Golf R serviced by Jordan and his team - very professional and knowledgeable mechanics who did a great job on my car and even managed to do extra work that it wasn't booked in for and still get it back to me within the day. Thanks so much guys!
The place is a mess, upon walking in, as for appearance and presentation it’s not apparent walked in to be greeted by a man whom later turned out to be the manager smoking directly out the front door whilst nobody bothered to ask my I was there His appearance and odour struck me and unpleasant, bearing in mind it’s been warmer that’s no excuse As expected as I walked again he was now shouting in front of this lady telling a guy whom seemed to work there to grab his stuff and leave immediately, clearly I didn’t know what went on but it’s definitely not professional, then my MOT is cancelled great, what more could I expect from Halfords absurd and disgusting.
This is the first time I've used Halfords Beckenham, I took my car there for a full service. The customer service was good from start to finish, I can't fault it. Their tracker is useful to see how the service is progressing, I also popped back in half way through as I was in the area. I was told they ordered me a new oil filter, as the original one they were going to fit didn't pass their quality control. This was reassuring to know they take pride in what they're doing. It's also good they allow the option to spread the cost of the service, as in this economic climate not everyone has the ability to pay upfront. UPDATE: A week after I got my car serviced I got the dashboard alert that my tire was low in pressure, so I took it back to Halfords. They checked the tire, said they couldn't find a puncture and thought the tire warning hadn't been reset from the week before. Long story short, it transpires I did have a slow puncture and needed to replace the tire. Another company did the work and told me a nail had been in my tire for a long time, so how did Halfords miss this on two separate occasions? They gave me the paperwork for the service and said all my tires needed was more air, which clearly wasn't right. I complained to the manager and ended up getting a partial refund.
