   Recenly, I booked my 2011 RR L322 TDV8 in for a suspected turbo/turbo solenoid issue. Overall the whole experience was disappointing. I paid £271 for a clean car and not much else... ( I did not want a clean car, I wanted a working car/advice/proper diagnosis ). It was booked in for Thursday so over a month ago, I dropped it off in the morning as instructed and was told it would be looked at in the afternoon and to expect a call... No call came, which is fine, as I know garages are busy and honestly, I do not envy having to juggle many repairs, admin and customer service. Friday, no call. Saturday (they are open), no call. So Monday comes and I give them a call and they say they've looked into the issue and I would need a new turbo (which I know is not needed) and they are pricing it up. They don't call at all that day so I call them just before closing and have to basically pull a quote out of them (which is 5k) for a turbo replacement on the drivers side. I said I would need to think about it as 5k spent on a 7 ish k car is quite the investment. When told I needed this work, there was no reasoning other than 'the turbo is tired' - that won't fly. I went to pick up my car the next day, the receptionist was cordial and helpful if prompted... I asked for an itemised quote (which he hurridly wrote on a post-it)(not especially reassuring). I saw within the paperwork that there was a diagnostic sheet from an enhanced OBD scanner of sorts, which I had to ask for a copy and was not offered in the first instance. Upon asking why the car needed a new turbo and what their diagnostic process was I could see the person at the counter was somewhat lost and wasn't told the appropriate information for the job. They stated that the turbo was just tired and that the mechanics had the car on the ramp and they plugged the computer into it... How can you tell a turbo is tired without physically inspecting the turbo or removing the turbo?? Which bit of the turbo is 'tired' --- does it need new seals? Are the blades pitted and scored? Is it consuming oil? Does it not spool up enough? Is there white smoke from the exhaust? The explanation of why I should spend £5000 was poor at best... For the money I paid, I can see that they plugged in an OBD scanner and wasted time cleaning my car to a poor standard... I did not want my car cleaned, especially not somewhere I didn't take it for a clean. I went to Kinghams from a fair distance because of good reviews that stated reasonable prices and knowledge but I'm doubting if these prior reviews are particularly accuarate. I feel as though I wasted £271 plus £25 worth of ULEZ fees, not to mention fuel and time. I would not reccomend this garage.

   It’s increasingly rare to find an independent specialist for Land Rover that genuinely understands the nuances of older models and matches that with excellent customer service. As a new customer I can see why Kinghams is so highly rated. Big thanks to Julie, Gary and Keith (and the tech who went the extra mile on my wiring loom to save me lots of £££). I’ll be back and would encourage any LR owner to place their faith in this business.

   The folks at Kingham did a great job on my ‘02 Defender. All shocks and coils replaced. The customer service was great from first contact and through the repair with daily video and messages. The work was done to a high standard and the vehicle was cleaned. The orange juice was an attentive extra touch.

Keith got us into the workshop the next day with a complimentary Heath check and completed works with a more reasonable price and amazing customer service. Citnow videos all the way and a loan vehicle to keep us mobile. Highly recommended for a Range Rover sport

   I have a land rover Evoque and there was issues with my turbo which wasn’t working properly. After a lot of research, I found out it wasn’t the whole turbo that was faulty, just the actuator. I asked local garages to me and I get all kept coming back saying it wasn’t hell the actuator, I’ve been in this profession for X number of years and the whole thing needed to be replaced. Other garages simply wouldn’t take on the work. I rang Keith at Kinghams and explained my situation. He mentioned LR do not sell the actuator alone and I said I would buy this separately if they were willing to fit. He mentioned (rightly) they cannot guarantee the part would fit as it came from an external provider. The service delivered was exceptional, they provided diagnostic tests, tested the parts and I’ve saved over £2,000 from using Kinghams than LR. They even cleaned the car too! The guys over at Kinghams were a lot further out from my local garages but I was so happy with the service. Great job guys, and sorry for not writing the review sooner. If there’s any big issues and I’m untrusting of local garages to work on my car I will certainly be back!

   Have used Kinghams a number of times over the last few years for services, MOTs and repairs to my Range Rover Sport. Keith and his team are always friendly, helpful and professional. They keep you informed of the work that needs doing, the cost (always reasonable!) and timescales. Strongly recommend.
