A really great experience. I had the MOT and Service undertaken on my Fiat Spider at Kinghams for the first time this week. I would highly recommend them. They were incredibly professional, knowledgeable and efficient and the workshop is exemplar. A hidden gem in South Croydon.

I have just purchased a new vehicle from Kinghams and I must say that the whole experience from the test drive to purchase was excellent. There was no pressure put on me to buy and Mike and Chloe were very good and made the purchase easy.

I went to this garage because my idling was a bit rough. After hours and hours of diagnostics at an extortionate price per hour, they decided I had to have a mass airflow meter changed and a gasket neither turbo changed. If they would have taken the engine cover off, they would have seen the oil coming out of the Turbo gasket, which wouldn't have taken long as it's up high in the engine. But instead they decided to do loads of hours of diagnostics which worked out an extortionate price of over £2000. I contacted the cars manufacturer, and they said they would have charged much, much less. I found the owner very tricky. Real Bad Experience !!!

I recently visited this dealership and had a very disappointing experience. Initially, I agreed to replace the timing belt, side mirror, and brakes. Only after committing to this work was I told that I had bought a “dodgy” car and that it was misfiring. They then led me to authorise further investigation into the misfire, claiming it was likely due to worn piston rings or valve stem seals. However, no compression or leak-down test was carried out to confirm this. The diagnosis was wrong, and the issue was neither fixed nor properly investigated. When I took the car to a different mechanic, they correctly identified the fault as a problem with the turbo. This means I paid for unnecessary work and received no resolution to the actual fault. On top of this, the pricing for parts and labour was extremely high, and the level of service did not match the cost. After the work was agreed, I had to chase for responses, and my follow-up emails were ignored entirely. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise avoiding this dealership.

Good morning all, I will always recommend Kinghams - always an excellent service! Brought our Range Rover a few times and we never had a complaint. Thank you Kinghams L R

I am very pleased with the job they did with my old Audi A4. After it started misfiring on two cylinders they soon identified the problem as being an oil leak through the rocker cover gasket and repaired the engine in two days. The car was left like new after valeting it, since I was using it for diverse dirty jobs for a long time. It now drives like new. A couple of years ago they also changed the driver door electric loom, which controls many things (since I am in and out of the car a lot). I am pleased to say, after a lot of use, it is working fine. Cables get metal fatigue in opening and closing the driver door and it depends on how it is done. So well done. Another garage had said it was too difficult to do and to take it to Audi. They work to a high standard. Thank you

The level of service is shockingly bad and their cars don't have a good warranty. Con artists.

I live in Belgium but had a problem with the oil filter so I called Kinghams, from the first moment I felt confidence the lady that answered the call knew what I was talking about, had an appointment for the following morning they were on the job straight away, knew what they were talking about , Job Done and even did a Valet on the car and gave me a voucher for breakfast. If I was going to buy a new Sabaru this garage would be my first choice one could not ask for more. Thank You Kinghams and all the Staff.

Thank you Kinghams. I have just received the most amazing, above and beyond service imaginable. I was in East Croydon for highly distressing personal reasons (to appear as a witness in Family Court) when a wheel bearing went in my Subaru. The AA (who I had called) highly recommended Kinghams, then escorted me there. They thought they could it relatively easily and that I’d be able to travel on down to Cornwall to visit my son and grandchildren who I haven’t seen for a year. . Sadly, the more they looked at the car the more problems they found. I was kept informed (so efficiently by video film) and difficulties arose because of the well-publicised shortage of parts. They eventually fixed my problems by bastardising one of their new, for-sale cars leaving it unsaleable until September when the parts can be replaced by Subaru. This is almost unimaginable service. They were kind, courteous, informative and great in every way. They have eventually managed a top class job of getting my car safely back on the road. I am never-endingly grateful and when I win the Lottery will make an ex-gratia payment which can be used as wanted. Thank you again, Kinghams,

I brought in a classic 1986 Subaru thinking a Subaru dealership would be helpful and know what they're doing. They had the car for almost 3 weeks (it was there for MOT and a tune-up). Every time I called for an update, I was met with nothing but rudeness by both Keith and Julie. Keith asked me not to call and that he would call me with an update. Keith at one point told me other customers were a higher priority because their cars were needed more than I needed mine - in other words, they were more important. He also made no effort to assist with the part search. No effort made to start looking into the why it wasn't running properly (another mechanic found the issue in 5 minutes - fuel pump). While you may have been in business all these years handed to you by your daddy, he forgot to mention you NEVER tell a paying customer that other customers are more important. Take your car elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect.
