Normally use Travelodge when visiting Birmingham and Solihull, but many years since used the Sheldon one. First impression was that fairly uncared for with abundance of cigarette stubs littering the entrance this making it smelly! Booked twin bedded accesible room but given one with double bed, not a great problem there though. Room fairly clean but toilet could do with maintenance and bit of uplift! Only real problem was with getting any sleep as constant noise until 3.00am from banging corridor door and the users having loud conversaions. I assume this being through either late arrivals or people popping out for cigarettes. Generally the whole hotel needs long overdue renovation as main impression gained was that it was quite a sad, dated, venue. One significant positive point is that it is attached to a very good Toby Carvery and Pub(Wheatsheaf) They make a point of explaining that the Travelodge is nothing to do with their Company, I don't blame them!! I won't be revisiting again.

Room ok, clean, warm, will not be staying again due to the fact we felt very vulnerable after finding that the key to our room also opened the door from the bar to the hotel, so my understanding is that one key opens all the rooms in the hotel....as well as the door from the bar...???? Safe or not..!!!

Easy to get to, plenty of car parking space. Rooms are basic but enough for an overnight stay. Bed comfortable. Reasonable size room - big enough for a cot. Due to location, road noise picked up significantly around 5.30/6.

Stayed here while attending a conference at the NEC. Standard Travelodge rooms - comfy mattress and pillows and plenty of free parking. Tea/ coffee available in room too. Staff were not particularly welcoming at check in, and when enquiring whether it was best to park around the front or back of the hotel the response was 'well they still get broken into". Not particularly funny after a 3 hour journey in an unfamiliar town. Also would have been good to know when booking that there were overnight roadworks immediately outside the hotel which was a little disruptive

Decent budget stay, but very tired decor β skip the breakfast Stayed here recently and was greeted by a very helpful and pleasant lady at check-in β definitely a positive start. The location is great, with shops and restaurants nearby, and thereβs a decent-sized car park which is a plus in Birmingham. That said, the hotel itself feels quite old and dated. Thereβs visible wear and tear throughout, and the decor could really use a refresh. The room was fit for purpose β basic but had what you need for a short stay. This is a budget-friendly hotel, and it shows β no frills, just somewhere to sleep. If thatβs all youβre after, it does the job. However, avoid the breakfast β itβs not worth the cost. Youβre essentially getting cereal, maybe some fruit, and a bottle of water. Better options available nearby. Would stay again if I just needed a cheap overnight stop, but not for anything longer or more comfortable.

Room was clean and tidy with the usual basic facilities of this hotel chain. However, my room 112 was next to a staff private office and whoever had access to this office kept slamming the door from around 5am onwards and kept waking me up. This happened 5 times between 5 and 7am This was hotel staff doing this....do they not care that customers need a decent nights sleep. I will be contacting head office in Thame to make a formal complaint.

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in! Reception lady was lovely, best thing about the place! Room dirty, no toilet paper or soap! Stained sheets, and what looked to be hair dye all over the floor, well at least I hope it was, as could have been excrement!. Bathroom stunk of urine! Noisy as hell, didn't sleep. Then to find out, this hotel is regularly used to house homeless, and immigrants, which is great, everyone needs somewhere to go, however if I'm paying money for the luxury of staying in a hotel, I'm not staying in this one again! Cheap, but believe me not cheerful! Honestly couldn't wait to get home to feel clean again; never ever again!

Spacious, comfortable rooms in a clean, pleasant hotel. The cleaners left their robot vacumn cleaner in our room and missed that the shampoo holder was either broken or empty. Caron, the receptionist was excellent and helpful.

Hotel looked very dated. The room was spacious but.... the window larch was broken (so you can open this all the way, not good if you have children). The room was very bright as there is a lot of lighting outside the bedroom window. We did struggle to find this hotel as there was very little signage on the exterior. We arrived when it was dark, if the exterior sign was light up it would be so much easier to see and not miss. As the saying goes, you pay for what you get!
