A small carpark, reception desk on the first floor, a very friendly night young lady worker, comfortable bed, and very close to an all you can eat restaurant.

Travelodge need to sort themselves out. Hotels should always have a receptionist. Many occasions I needed help and there was no one at reception. Had to ring the number to get someoneβs attention. There is no cooked breakfast. Instead you have the option of breakfast and go box. There is plenty of eateries nearby. To enquire for a late checkout. We were told that we needed to ask the morning staff on the day. When we did, we were told that all the late checkout out slots were gone. Again this is down to very few staff on site I reckon. You have to pay extra for checking in early.

Room did not have air con, just had a desk fan that moved already hot air around the room. Window opened just enough to make sitting by the window the coolest spot in the room. I suppose that if you aren't staying during the summer it may be better, but we all woke up drenched in sweat every morning. We were tempted to prop the door open because of how much cooler the hallway was compared to the room. No outlets for plugs by the bed, only USB and USB-C. Two of our guests had medical devices that they needed to use to sleep at night at risk of not breathing during the night. We ended up disconnecting the heater to use that plug and borrowed a strip from a family member to add more plugs for our phones and devices. Bathroom was serviceable but slippery as one would expect. One of us slipped and slammed our knee against the edge of the tub due to the high step-up; would not feel comfortable using the shower if I was less flexible and balanced than I am. The water oscillated between burning hot and ice cold. WiFi was expensive, ended up using my data and hotspot instead. TV worked, which is a plus. Customer service was fine; when our kettle leaked from the bottom we went to the desk and got a replacement with no fuss. Had an issue with an outlet and felt invalidated in my worries due to the fact that it tripped the breaker and left a smoke smell in the room for at least half an hour. "Family room" feels inaccurate, was a queen bed + 2 cots all lined up with no space between; we ended up moving it to essentially in front of our door, which felt like a fire hazard. Room was clean, but that's essentially the most positive thing I can say. Whoever is cleaning the rooms did an excellent job. May be a good place to stay during the winter, but that would be dependent on if the device we believed to be a heater actually works. I would recommend this location if you want to see a show nearby and there's no other options. There's sidewalks and crosswalks leading to convenience stores and groceries nearby; as an American travelling abroad I wasn't used to not having a microwave or fridge to store food but that's subjective. Ubers are very easy to get from this location, and again, felt very safe due to the security guard who kept watch at night over the car park and front entry. Vending machine in the lobby with drinks and snacks. There's breakfast boxes available to purchase at the front desk, but I didn't have one myself.

Very basic, standard room, but worth the room rate. No aircon (standalone fan used by the hotel); no toiletries or sufficient side table space to put your belongings. No USB port for charging your phone. Reception isn't manded during the day or evening, only mornings for checking out. The location is off-road and isn't in a very visible position. However, the location is reasonably quiet.

On Friday 7th October 2022, i went to the reception area. Receptionist name Sukhi was moody and abrupt with us. Iβm sure she is over worked as she was cleaning the rooms out at the same time too. Going up to clean rooms. Coming down to see to people checking in and checking out. The point is we are customers. Customers are right also. Suki got no customer service skills. The Travelodge on Chester Road B23 6SP, we got not even i complaint. All receptionists and all staff we came contact with were happy to help us all the time with a smile.

Comfortable, clean and reasonably priced if you book in advance. Aisha on reception was really helpful and able to assist with ensuring two rooms together.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. It was quiet and felt cosy. The room had the basics and the beds were so comfy we got a good night's sleep and didn't want to leave. Manager Zia was really helpful in giving us the next room to us when the lights stopped working in the bathroom. We didn't have to move to another room which made getting ready so easy and stress free that day. We would definitely stay at travelodge again.
