We had a great overnight stay at the family room. Meal in the evening and morning were spot on. All team members who we interacted with were absolutely brilliant. Many thanks.

The rooms are very modern and clean, I wish that the beds were a little softer and the pillows were super lumpy. If you are in the bedrooms upstairs, pack light because there’s no lift at all so you will be lugging all of your bags up 3 flights of stairs. We were staying here for 3 nights on a work trip, the wifi didn’t work once, which was a massive inconvenience and you expect to be able to have a stable wifi with the price of this. Was told multiple times that it’s a known area for break ins which really made me feel at ease about parking our van there. Was also woken up by housekeeping chatting extremely loudly outside my room on 2 days.

Visitors be aware … First time in the Uk in years! Visiting from Canada. Stayed one night, had dinner in the carvery - which was great. Staff was great - got home and received a parking notice for £100 plus the car rental company also charged me £35 administrative fee for sending me the fine. The thing is that we put in our registration twice - once when we came in at the bar and then for our hotel reservation. The clerk told me that she had it. How am I getting a fine now? Despite me contacting the hotel now for two weeks - I am getting pushed back and forth between emails and not received any response on how this will be made right. How are we responsible to pay this fine? Good trip but this is so disappointing.

Val was absolutely amazing and so kind. Despite us getting here 5 minutes before the carvery closed, she was so accommodating and made sure we got food and drinks. The lady serving the carvery, Jane, was also so kind and welcoming.

Plenty of towels for 2 people. Nice big shower. Clean. Plenty of tea and coffee. Lady who checked us looked a bit stressed and we didn't feel very welcomed.( Not a Biggie) gentleman before us inquiried if any table available ( he was on his own) and told that they are fully booked, with out even checking with the restaurant. This put us off asking even though there were free tables. Just thought that she could have tried to be a bit helpful. Bed was a bit on the hard side for me Requested a quiet room but can hear bins ( I think) being wheeled late at night and early morning

The room was great, clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant both nights and that was also great - good food, friendly staff and good value. The not so good - on our first morning, we needed an early start and came down to breakfast at 7.00. The door from the rooms to the restaurant was locked, we went out through the night exit and found the front door to the street locked. Back inside, nobody answering the phones and no night porter apparently on duty. Other guests arrived for breakfast and were equally baffled. Apparently two members of staff (agency workers) had not turned up, which could not be helped, but there really should be a contingency or at least someone on duty 24 hours to assist guests with queries. It made us wonder what would have happened if there had been an emergency. Eventually a permamanent member of staff arrived and a delayed breakfast service resumed, but for us by then it was rushed and not at all relaxed. My other comment would be that there is too much single use plastic still being used in the rooms, plastic cups in the bathroom individually wrapped in plastic, single use bottles of shampoo and shower gel etc. We also had no 'do not disturb' hanger in the room to tell housekeeping not to bother cleaning our room or changing towels for our short stay and staff downstairs were too busy to bother them with our request (we were, as I say, in a rush by then).

We had a poor beginning to our visit - we arrived at the beginning of the check-in window of 3pm. Staff member went to check if our rooms were ready, returned to tell us they weren't due to a staff member being off ill and asked if we could wait 30 minutes. We understand these things can happen and it was not a big issue as we could buy some drinks and wait in a booth. We waited 1 hour and asked again if the room was ready, unfortunately it wasn't, but the manager gave us free drinks to wait another 30 minutes - luckily we had the time to be able to wait and at 4.30pm the rooms were ready. The rooms were excellent. The evening carvery was also excellent. Breakfast was reasonable, had to ask for juice at the bar and limited cereals on offer but otherwise all was fine. Overall experience was very good and cost was reasonable.

Lovely friendly place. So jolly the staff and welcoming. The meals were amazing especially their Yorkshire pudding breakfast with all the trimmings of a full English. Room was very clean, and large. If I had to pick a fault is that last orders was at 9pm which was a little disappointing.

Our room was clean and had a nice shower. Hotel parking was free and this hotel is situated on the Hagley Road, one of the main roads into Birmingham, so access to buses into town was good. However, when we arrived at approx 2pm the welcome we received was awful. No smile, no greeting or warm welcome, merely a very 'cold' 'check in after 3pm at the bar. When we returned to check in at approx7pm, again there was no warm welcome, a 'Hello' or 'Good Evening' was replaced with 'there is £238 to pay' Our room was OK but one of the bedside lights was not working, and the wall light next yo the bed was not working. We reported this to the night porter-needless to say, nothing was done about it. Very poor service.
