We’ve been shopping here for over 30 years, and it’s such a shame to see it closing down. The staff have always been so lovely, and having it conveniently close by has been a real blessing. The fresh fish counter, the bakery with its amazing sourdough selection, click-and-collect services, and the dry cleaning were essentials for me. It’s always been busy whenever I’ve visited, so I’m genuinely surprised by the closure. Wishing all the best to the wonderful staff who’ve worked there—they’ve made shopping here such a great experience. It’s disappointing to see Waitrose and John Lewis scaling back so much in Birmingham. First, the John Lewis in Grand Central closed a few years ago, then the smaller Waitrose on Snow Hill, and now this. Meanwhile, I hear new stores are opening in London—it seems they’ve chosen their favorite city.

It's really a shame they are closing - I have been shopping there for the last 20 years. This shop was conveniently located for a lot of people going home to western part of Solihull from work in B'ham. And no, they will not switch to the absurdly localised Waitrose in the Solihull centre. Sainsbury will get them. Or the big Tesco, down the Stratford road. As for the alleged commercial unviability of this very shop, in my humble opinion, they were over-employed. The service at the tills was very good. But I have an impression that the staff stacking the shelves worked at a very relaxed pace, to say this gently. And I am surprised that this not-so-big store employed over 120 people.

Nice staff, awful (potentially racist) security. Coloured males are unable to look at any of the plants outside, because if you don't fit the description of "60 year old woman" security will instantly appear thinking you will steal something. This has happened on multiple occasions now. I've ended up purchasing my bulbs, lavender plants and rose bushes from a local competitor instead where you aren't treated like a criminal. No issues in other Waitrose stores.

Good range of products although I couldn't find as many organic items as I was hoping for. Staff are polite and helpful. Store looks a little tired though, could do with a refurb. Car park isn't great either but not much they can do about that given the space they have to work with.

Hi! I hope you all are well. I usually don't leave reviews but this time I said maybe it's good and I will protect other people from suffering the same thing as my wife (my wife does not know that I am leaving this review). So…After several searches, my wife managed to find some work, merchandiser two nights a week (on weekends). Otherwise, she has to take care of our son, seven years old, and the fact that she found something to do made her quite happy. But after a few weeks I noticed that something was not right. At first she didn't want to tell me, but after I insisted she confessed that it was because of her colleagues (especially an English lady and an Indian lady). The fact that she did her job quickly and well I don't think it suited the others. So, they exchanged messages with each other and others asking where he is, what he's doing, how long he's on break. They reported that she did not rotate the goods, which is false. My wife has worked in this field since 2010. Anyway, I advised her to ask to be moved to other nights of the week. She did this, but I think she didn't ask the right person and she did not specify the real reason. According to me, the shift leader was the friend of the others with whom she worked for a long time. The answer was that she could not be moved to other nights, and in the end she had to resign. The toxic environment in which he worked, the malice of some colleagues were not good for her mental health and well-being. The fact that he had two colleagues with whom he got along did not make up for the rest. After the moment when she told the real reason for the resignation, things changed a little, but was too late. I hope that the real leadership does not know the truth about these practices and things will change and other people will not have to leave. I didn't use harsh words, but you yourself can draw the conclusion about what it is about. We have to understand that life is hard enough for many people and try to be better. Thank you for your time.

Good quality produce. Can be a bit pricey to do a full weekly shop, but for bits and pieces, worth the price. Usually a Big Issue seller outside who is very polite and grateful when buying the magazine.
