WORST ASDA EVER! Especially for disabled customers. My mum is disabled and used the Asda mobility scooter trolley yesterday afternoon. When we got to the tills, the queues were all the way up each of the aisles. We queued in the last aisle only to discover when we arrived at the till, that the till is not wide enough to accommodate the scooter. The till lady told us to use the extra wide tills to take mum's scooter through and around to the other side. There are 2 extra wide tills and both were used by customers queuing with prams. We had to navigate the scooter through the queues, pass the prams through the extra wide tills. It was not easy. Complained to the manager at Small Heath who said cannot widen tills and to complain to head office. He wrote wrong telephone number for me to complain. After NUMEROUS calls, registered complaint with an empathetic and wise person who understood the challenging situation. 1. Why are all the tills not extra wide nor labelled up 2 Why occupay both extra wide tills with customers and expect the disabled to navigate pass them to get round to the other side of the till 3. Why is this normalised for Asda staff. The attitude is SHOCKING! 4. Why was my complaint not logged by the manager and passed to head office instead of onus on customer aka FOBBED OFF Needless to say, this branch cannot cater to mobility disabled customers. My mum is not coming back here as it is a logistics nightmare aka a JOKE! In the UK, the Equality Act 2010 protects disabled shoppers from discrimination, requiring shops and service providers to make reasonable adjustments (like ramps, large print, or extra help) for equal access, preventing refusal of service or lower standards, and covering online and in-store experiences. Businesses must proactively anticipate needs, not wait for complaints, ensuring disabled people aren't treated less favourably due to their disability, covering areas from physical access to communication, with recourse through courts or advocacy if rights are breached. Key Protections Under the Equality Act 2010 Reasonable Adjustments: Shops must make changes to their premises, policies, or procedures to help disabled customers, such as providing ramps, larger print, or staff assistance. No Less Favourable Treatment: It's illegal to treat a disabled customer worse than a non-disabled one, for example, by refusing service or charging more for accessibility. Anticipatory Duty: Businesses must plan ahead for the needs of disabled people, rather than waiting for a specific customer to make a request. Covers All Services: This applies to physical stores, online services, restaurants, transport, and more. What Counts as Discrimination? Refusal of Service: Denying service because of a disability. Lower Standard of Service: Failing to provide accessible formats (e.g., large print) or communication support. Harassment: Staff making derogatory comments or treating someone unfairly. Failure to Adjust: Not providing a needed, reasonable adjustment.

Great store , very friendly staff. Very big tho , you do tend to lose track of directions now and again but staff are very well knowledged they always know which way to direct you. Also love the Christmas vibes

Asda small heath has the most friendly customer service staff especially Ishaq and his mother who both work there. Lovely mother and son duo who are helpful and supportive every time we visit.

I'm writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from Aftab, a staff member at your Small Heath store. During my recent visit, I experienced a poor attitude from him, which was unpleasant and unacceptable. I also witnessed him speaking to another staff member in a condescending manner. As a regular customer, I value the service provided by your store and would appreciate it if you could address this issue with Aftab. I hope you can ensure that all customers are treated with respect and courtesy.

This asda shop always have offers on food thats close to it self by date which is good for low income families. Good balance of cash & card tills. The only issue, here's a long queue at the tills due to high volume of consumers in the area.

UPDATE: VERY DISAPPOINTING. £1.05 FOR ALREADY MOLDING PUDDINGS. my Mrs was looking forward to these. Clearly not use by but display until Everything you could need useful to have a toilet right at the front of the store. Although a bit odd that the food to go meal deals are sort of where you'd leave/exit

Very embarrassing. Big sign stated 3 for £22 took 2 Amstel and 4 Sol to the til (with other shopping) only to find out someone had labelled it wrong and I had to put 3 boxes back as I didn't have enough money. There was lots of people waiting to use the trolley shop scan I will not be going again.

This branch has was my regular supermarket over years. However I only use it now as convinience not my big shop anymore. So many leaks from the ceiling with buckets around the branch. Can really do with a revamp and definitely get real staff on till points as opposed to so many self serve. Prior to covid it had a cafe which was welcoming and warming, that's gone too.

As Asda stores go this is one of the better ones. A good size with a fantastic clothing and home ware sections, tech and toys. If you need it they probably have it. Also have halal and other specially prepared meats. World food section. Great choice to be found. Good size car park and good transportation links by bus. As I said it’s one of the better Asda stores.
