This is a great apartment in a great location but we feel badly let down.£538 for 2 nights but the property was dirty. Kitchen units littered with crumbs, cutlery drawer with spillage, grease on the walls beside the extractor and chewing gum stuck on the bedroom wall. We were only there two nights so raised this with the owner post trip who then bemoaned the cost for expensive deep cleans between visitors and took no Accountability. He kept asking why we didn’t raise things as we found them but inevitably we didn’t discover everything at the outset. Add to this the fact we had to venture out in the pouring rain to a communal cupboard to source batteries for the tv remote and you’ll get the picture. The in-house book says there will be cereal and milk ‘if available’ and there was nothing. We had to buy our own toilet rolls and shower gel as you don’t get that either. So if booking, ask Richard to confirm you’ll have a spotlessly clean apartment and to make sure everything that you should have is in place as you’ll understand we feel ripped off with no offer at of recompense, just a defensive attitude.

Nice enough and well appointed. Welcome email stating 6 parking spaces is wrong. Spent 20 minutes trying to work out where the 2 remaining spaces were then another 40 queuing for the multistorey nearby. No TV remote which made the TV redundant. Wet room is nice but a bit of a death trap. Some kind of shower mat would help.

Great room in a great location with ideal parking outside the door. Me and my girlfriend returned at 8pm to chill out. CHILL was the right word. Firstly the electric fire was switched on which had to be turned off due to racket it made. We put on the aircon/ heating which again had to be switched off due to excessive noise. We contacted the host who this credit came out within the hour with extra blow heaters. He left around 10pm having dismantled the fire and heating. He told us he wasn't aware of any issues but looking back through reviews it looks like an ongoing issue. It took an age to heat the room and we sat with coats on until bedtime. The signal for the TV was rubbish, we could only watch Netflix. I didn't mention the TV immediately as could be a problem beyond the hosts control. My parking of £10 was refunded kindly. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, dusty TV, unclean fridge and bare wires on top of wall units in the kitchen weren't really an issue. That was until I queried about some sort of partial refund for in my opinion an unacceptable room for the money paid which was £200 and was accused of blackmail and told they would discount my next stay instead. Both me and my partner had an awful night's sleep as we didn't think it'd be safe to sleep with electric heaters on overnight. I would recommend finding somewhere warm to stay over especially during the winter months. Surely working heating is a minimum standard.

Had this apartment booked for quite a few months prior to have them cancel on us the night before... not acceptable.

I had booked this for a couple of days away for my partners birthday. Arrived to check in at 2pm (check in time) and owner ignored call/text to check in. Didn't get access to property until 14:30. We gained access by approaching one of the apartments where someone was inside cleaning who happened to be the owner which turned out to be still inside the apartment we were due to be staying in. Waited for text message for code to enter into door to gain access so couldn't leave the property until this had been received which took over an hour and a half from check in time. Banister appears to of been ripped off the wall and railing left on the living area floor. really poor repair work done (see photos). Stain on bedroom carpet in front of mirror. Toilet was dirty and the toilet seat was broken. Television was caked in dust. Electrical wires hanging off the top of the kitchen cupboards. Damp patch on ceiling below shower above. Grubby marks on the walls throughout the apartment. Poor filler work in bedroom. Heater was really noisy and could not have on in the evening due to the constant clicking noise it made. Also looked like it needed a clean. Tried to complain about all of this to be offered a 20% refund and 50% off my next stay. I can definitely say I will not be returning to the York Aparthotel again so the offer of a reduced next visit is useless. I am still yet to receive any form of refund from the York Aparthotel.

Great little apartment we stayed in for a night. It was nice to have have upstairs bedroom separate to the kitchen living area downstairs. Amenities included were brilliant, including toiletries, hairdryer, washer-dryer, etc. Bed was really comfortable and shower facilities were great. The only thing was there were some exposed wiring (nothing unsafe, just unsightly) and patched up holes that hadn't been painted over, and a massive crack in the kitchen side that you could've caught yourself on if you weren't being careful. All this didn't ruin our stay though. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay, and would stay again!.

Nice apartment... Once we got inside! The owner text us the code to get in but when it didn't work he didn't respond to our texts and turned his voicemail on, leaving us outside for an hour and a half. Thankfully the cleaner let us in to the larger appartment next door. While we were waiting though we spoke to another visitor, who had also had to wait 40 minutes before getting into their room, so seems to be a bit of a pattern. A shame really as the apartment itself was comfortable and gave us easy access to all the delights of the city.
