   Lovely little hotel slap bang in the middle of York, opposite York castle for added dramatic effect .it's just a stone throw away from the action but in a lovely area of York. Check in was good and we booked the valet parking as during the Christmas rush we didn't want to be looking around for parking, tip for fellow travellers. Breakfast is superb with a great variety of choices and everything is fresh . Rooms are comfortable only downside are the pillows , didn't enjoy them as they felt hard , other than that superb. From start to finish the staff have been superb . So hats off all and A Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all .

   Great hotel in central York with a really nice room and services. Unfortunatly, and this could def be a me problem, but i found the bed really rough to sleep in due to how firm and rock solid it felt. Also im a light sleeper so with it being central city it was very hard to sleep. I would reccomend if these dont bother you but if you are a light sleeper, id reccomend ear plugs. Besides that staff were lovely!

   Suite was lovely, clean, had all the amenities you would need. Perfect location. The restaurant staff were lovely and helpful although the food could definitely be better. The walls to the rooms are paper thin so you can hear everything, so be prepared to not get any sleep until the sun comes up and the partying stops unfortunately.

   Hilton York, 1 Tower Street Perfect location for a York stay. Walk around the side of the hotel and you’re right in the city centre: JORVIK Viking Centre is about 100 metres away, Fairfax House is roughly 50 metres, and Clifford’s Tower is practically on the hotel’s doorstep. You’re also surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops. Our room was very well appointed and spotless, with a modern-classic feel throughout the hotel. It’s clearly well maintained, and our room’s view of Clifford’s Tower was amazing. The bar is modern and comfortable, and breakfast was a strong highlight—an extensive buffet plus a chef making eggs to order. Parking-wise, pay for the on-site valet. There’s no self-parking at the hotel, and the nearby Castle car park is expensive, so valet is the easiest, best-value option. Service was good overall—friendly and helpful—but not quite excellent; it could be a touch sharper and more responsive at times. That said, everything we needed was handled without fuss. Overall, highly recommended. We visit York a few times each year and would definitely stay here again for the unbeatable location, comfortable rooms, and solid amenities.

   Fantastic location- nice and central to York and in the middle of everything. Perfect if visiting for a weekend trip. However, I can’t say the rooms were up to the usual quality I’d expect from Hilton. The beds were comfortable and there was a good amount of space, I booked a King Guest with View. Unfortunately, the “view” had a very small window so wasn’t worth the upgrade, and the room itself felt dated- especially the bathroom which had a blocked bath so when the shower was used you’d have a pool of water at your feet. I was only staying for a night and showered before checking out so I doubt the staff would have been able to do much. I did tell them at the front desk when I checked out and they were very apologetic. The TV did not have any internet accessible platforms like Youtube or Netflix and I didn’t bring a HDMI cable so was unable to watch anything. The umbrella dispenser also didn’t work and took my money, but a staff member was kind enough to fetch me one from the back. Speaking of, the staff were very friendly and definitely elevated the stay. The gym was not much to write home about, with dumbbells only going up to 20kg, but that’s to be expected at a hotel like this- although it was a pity because I’d hoped to get a decent workout in and they really should go up to at least 40kg. The hotel is pleasant enough, but for the price I can’t help but think there’s more value to be had elsewhere.

   Excellent hotel in terms of location. Room very comfortable, bathroom disappointingly small, and as visitors staying for 3 nights I think reception could have allocated us a room with a better view. Breakfast was excellent too and service sharp.

   This is OK, but does not worth the value Liked 1. The staff is nice and friendly. The receptionist Kate and Ovina kindly accepted my early check-in and the receptionist Lydia was helpful during the check-out. The very friendly staff at the reception and at the bar. 2. The room was tidy Disliked 1. The heaters do not work. They have an air conditioning system, but it does not work properly as well. If you want to sleep nicely, then don't forget to grab an extra blanket from your home! 2. Power sockets are not located near the bed. Don't forget an extension cable from your home! 3. No hair conditioner available. So, finally, do not forget the hair conditioner from your home! 4. The selection of various products in the bath is very poor for such a level of hotels. There is only a liquid soap and a moisturiser. Well, officially, Hilton has many bottles (shower gel, soap, shampoo), but all of these liquids are the same. In my opinion, all of these things would be OK (?) for a small hotel without a brand, but I was pretty disappointed by the value/quality ratio of the Hilton at Tower Street, York.

   We were so disappointed with this hotel. We had booked a deluxe king room with a tower view for 2 nights. With fees, this cost us just over £700. Our room was very basic and tired. I have never felt more ripped off and such a waste of money. We could have paid far less than half this cost and stayed in a room with better amenities and more luxury at a budget chain hotel. Our view of the tower didn't exist and instead all we could see was a massive tree. Now I appreciate this isn't the Hiltons fault, however they should not offer this room as a tower view at a higher cost. The window let in all sorts of noises and wind. We hardly slept due to the noise coming in from the street. The toilet door was chipped around all the edges and peeling. The only positive thing I can say is the bed was fabulous. We just feel so cheated as this was not the Hilton standard that we have come to love. We would advise if you choose to stay at this hotel that you get the cheapest room available because it really is NOT worth the money.

   Location is great as it's near the tower, shops, bars, etc. Also close to the York wall walk which makes it good. However, we were disappointed that the room was at the back end of the hotel and although the room seemed clean there were cobwebs everywhere. Housecleaning - please look up and vacuum :)

   The room has everything you need. Very clean and the bathroom has all the lotions you need. The reception and bar area is very clean and inviting. Had our evening meal and were put at the back of the restaurant. The whole thing took 2hrs. I think we were forgotten as the people on the next table came after us and left before us. It wasn't even busy. Then this morning at breakfast we left our table to get toast to return to find another couple sat at our table. When I told the staff we were put on another table with an apology. Doesn't give a good impression.Didn't appreciate having to move half way through breakfast.
