Not a great experience staying at Radisson unfortunately. 1 star for the location, but otherwise: - Very small and uncomfortable rooms. I had to close the door of the toilet to be able to open the room door or move around. There was a tiny desk which clearly was not suitable for a laptop, as the space was taken up by the phone. - The AC was not working. It was on, and if you wanted to turn it off and then on again after a while, it would blow cold air. I had to call reception every night to ask them to fix it, and they would very rudely tell me I should stop touching it. No one had told me beforehand that I was not allowed to touch the AC control panel or it would stop working. - Similarly, the shower water was cold on the last day. Imagine returning to your room after a very long day and wanting to have a warm bath before sleep. Nope, cold it is. Also, the shower was a ceiling-mounted rain shower, so your hair would inevitably get wet even if you did not want it to, as the space was so tiny and you could not move around much. - The wardrobe was non-existent. It was literally a hole in the wall with everything shoved into it (ironing board, safe, etc.), so you could not really put any clothes anywhere. Similarly, the bed was weird, it was very high up and one had to jump on and off, since it was on a platform to save space. - Very, very rude front desk staff. There was a mature female staff member who was clearly unhappy with me bothering them to fix my AC, even though I was literally shivering in the room. The first time I called about this, around midnight, she said, βYouβre calling in the middle of the night.β How dare I, really?!! - Their parking was always full, which is fine, but the phone instructions say that if the parking is full, one can park nearby at the NCP and receive a discount. When I asked about this discount, they said it no longer exists and that they simply have not updated the instructions. All in all, a bad experience unfortunately, so best avoided. I have stayed in far better hotels in York for the same price. I think the 5 star reviews must be fake, I cannot explain it otherwise.

Decent hotel in a central location. The double room I had was a decent size with a good sized bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it, and topped up frequently Parking is Β£20 overnight - if you can get in as the car park is quite small and the entry/exit system seems temperamental

Great location, close to the train station, and in a central location. Beautiful view no matter which side you're on (we were facing the southwest. The room was very clean and spacious. Our only complaint is that there was no shower hose, which makes it difficult to thoroughly rinse. The shower had one of those gentle "rain" heads that can't be adjusted at all. The complimentary breakfast buffet was decent, as was the service at the front desk. If we visit York again, we would choose this hotel again. It was here that we learned that the British "How are you?" is actually "Are you alright?" and we thought the front desk employee was concerned with something about us (I checked to see if we had forgotten to get dressed...) :)

Perfect location for a trip around the city, friendly staff, clean hotel and rooms were comfortable. Good selection at breakfast (cooked English breakfast, continental and pastries). My only slight complaint is the mattress was very firm, with very little give. We both slept ok but I definitely wouldn't preferred a slightly softer mattress.

Amazing location - itβs worth the stay because of how central it is to everything. Bar staff very friendly, breakfast staff nice. Reception staff adequate. Very expensive for what you get. Rooms small and poorly designed. Pillows too soft and no alternatives. No storage in rooms for clothing etc. Overall its OK. Iβd happily stay again if I had to but Iβd certainly look elsewhere first, especially for the value for money aspect.

Excellent central location next to the river. Our room had just been updated, and was super. Large, great views over the river to the Minster, it was very well stocked and appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were great and super helpful. Breakfast food was replenished on a regular basis, hot and delicious. Booking in, and out, was easy. A secure car park, at reduced rates is just 1 min walk away. We will certainly be back. Photo was taken from the room.

This is a perfect location if you want to walk around York. It's close to train station. Close to pubs. Beautiful views. Rooms were clean. Only con was for our room either you could have the AC on for really cold or 1 degree higher it turns on heat which is like the sun.

We stayed here for 1 Night to enjoy the Christmas Markets. This hotel is in the perfect location and you can get to York town centre in less than a 5/10 minute walk. The hotel was easy to find and they offer a small convenient car park facility. Staff were all very welcoming and very friendly. We stayed in one of the hotels newly refurbished Superior rooms with Cathedral view and it was beautiful. The bed was large and very comfortable, and the room offered complimentary bottled water and biscuits and handy tea and coffee making facilities and the bathrobes and slippers were also a lovely added touch. I have stayed in a few hotels in the Uk and having a Smart TV with access to Google Chromecast is an absolute winner so having this in our room was great after a busy day shopping. We did only stay Room only so couldnβt comment of the Breakfast. Overall we had an amazing stay and will be back again really soon.

Stayed one night before an early train journey next day. Great central location by the river, ideal for town and rail station. Room was good, though a little dark, despite various mood lighting. Comfy bed. Had an excellent meal. Good value.

Not much to look at from the outside but it enjoys an enviable view overlooking the river. Attended here for a training conference. Lunch menu more than adequate. Convenient spot only 10 minutesβ walk from the train station and with easy access to the city centre and attractions.
